There is no defense for his actions. he’s killing everyone who gets in his way. L’s intelligence was equal to light if not more. The conclusion of this battle was based Entirely off the information that was available. I was so excited to watch y'all react to it but it became hard to watch after every consecutive reaction. But I hope that y'all are enjoying it. It's a great piece of anime. Light is my fav character and L is dope af too. I hope that y'all appreciate both of them now as good written characters. I never watched the anime after L's death as the fight between L and Light was the reason I watched the show. Also I never really liked the ending when I got to know about how it ends. 2021-03-13 08:30:37 +0000 UTCJust some uncommon knowledge: The Author, Takeshi Obata has stated that he looked at Light as "very evil" and L as "slightly evil" which is showcased by L trying to even manipulate Light by calling him his "Friend" when in actuality, he despises him (which was also confirmed by Obata). You could even say he was trying to manipulate Light in this episode too with the stairs sequence. So there would've been no chance at a friendship lol

2021-03-12 02:48:47 +0000 UTCIt really is impossible to tell, everything would play out completely differently if he never revealed himself, in fact it would've been so much different there's really no point in even thinking about it, there would be scenarios where he wins and loses by not revealing himself, just like there's scenarios where he would've won by revealing himself, we just got the one where he lost. 1 variable changes everything though, if rem doesn't give a fuck about misa, L wins. If light had a change of heart and decided L was too dangerous and got the shinigami eyes, light wins. All this rambling I'm doing just for me to say, we have no clue lmao

2021-03-12 01:33:53 +0000 UTCI like to think that L died with "some" piece of mind. We saw him being very frustrated during the whole show at the fact that he couldn't confirm the Light was Kira. Seeing Light smile at the end confirmed to him in the end that he was right. I also think L was the smartest person in the show. He just had a lot more disadvantages. Lack of critical information and other major things working against him.

I know it's in the Bible, and pretty sure it was something about Kings washing Jesus' feet with the imagery now showing L washing Light's feet feeding into the image of him being Godly over the highest of men. It just obviously looks weird in any kind of modern setting or context

Those of you who wanted Light to win this is what him winning looks like and now you don't enjoy it. L was different than what you all were used to. But he was the best I was so crushed when he died. One last thing L never had or used a Death Note. If he had all the information about the Death Note he would not have died.

It was such a vindictive and unnecessary move that highlighted how cruel and childish Light really was. I cannot see anything L said would ever make Light regret anything he has done.

2021-03-11 20:03:16 +0000 UTCI was expecting the low-hanging fruit jokes about the scene when L and Light get out of the rain, but I still was hoping the Normies would see what was really going on. They touched on it for just a second but dismissed it as maybe a culture norm they were unaware of in the reaction portion. It is pretty funny considering all the Christian motifs and iconology that is prevalent in the show they skip over it and go for the yaoi. Luckily, Chris does talk about this very thing in the discussion for anyone else who chuckled but rolled their eyes at those jokes. I really enjoyed this reaction. This whole episode is incredible with the pacing, staging, music cues and the animation, and dialogue. Just a gut-punch of an episode. I can't wait to find out how they respond to the next direction the show is headed in for the last 10 episodes. Also, I'll add my opinion and request they watch the funeral scene.
