If you recall when Sasuke lit Killer Bee on fire he also cut a tentacle off. Then the camera weirdly showed it sinking to the bottom. Then when the fire was out Bee was just floating there. They were already hinting that he escaped. Bee treated the whole fight like a game and then played one final prank on them. Sasuke is many things but he is not a guy good at making long term plans like that. He usually has just one single minded goal and follows that without thinking about afterwards. Plus he doesn't really care what the Akatsuki do either.
