2021-02-14 07:21:20 +0000 UTCThey have a Nazi aesthetic more than Nazi policy. The Empire is like the Roman Empire with a Nazi coat of paint. There is a spectrum of 'Imperials' in the Empire. Some are just people from the Republic who continued to the Empire and don't see much difference. Others are full on 'New Order' fanatics who believe the Emperor wants an Empire just for humanity and all aliens should be enslaved or exterminated. It should be noted that the people who know the Emperor is a Sith Lord were aliens like Mass Ameda and Sly Moor. So Palpatine himself has no racist or sexit ideology, but he doesn't really care if anyone else does so long as they don't interfere with his plans. If anything Palpatine endorsed contradictory officers so the Empire would be filled with people who absolutely hate each other and are constantly trying to one up and stab each other in the back. Why once Palpatine died the Empire fell apart from infighting almost instantly. So in that way it's not like Rome. But with Palpatine it's the Roman Empire with a Nazi aesthetic while really being a cult of personality around Palpatine. And the rebels were the Alliance to Restore the Republic... so from a technical standpoint the Rebellion is a conservative ideological movement trying to turn back the clock. Something the Emperor uses for propaganda that he's moving the galaxy forward and improving everything while the Rebels want to return to the corrupt and ineffective Old Republic... which honestly made life worse for a lot of people while the Empire improved things. It also made life worse for a lot of people. I liked the old EU as they handled people's thoughts and perspective on the Empire and Republic well with so many thoughts and perspectives.

2021-02-14 03:40:21 +0000 UTCOn the Empire and Space Nazi stuff, it is honestly not far off. The Empire is probably closest to the Roman Empire with some Soviet Union and Nazi stuff thrown in. They were a tad sexist, pro-human and anti-alien, but they didn't go around killing off aliens en masse like a genocide. However, they were willing to destroy a people if they rebelled (like the Romans/Nazis/Soviets) like Alderaan or Jedha City. The Emperor basically nationalised everything and made sure the only real jobs were serving in the military or helping arm it. Plus, a lot of people initially preferred a more stable Empire, following the disastrous Clone Wars, over the corrupt Republic/Democracy (in that particular galaxy).

2021-02-14 01:36:17 +0000 UTCThis was great! Thanks for watching this. Suraj recognized Mon Mothma the leader of the rebellion after only seeing her once in "Return of the Jedi." Good job Suraj, that's impressive. The actress that plays Mon Mothma was originally in "Revenge of the Sith" but they deleted her scene. You can find it on youtube. I guess they felt bad about deleting her one part so they hired her for Rogue One. One final piece of nerd trivia, it is possible that Mon Mothma is the leader of the New Republic when "The Mandalorian" takes place. Not sure though, new star wars canon is somewhat vague.
