dam :( why did you switch to sub... i was excited about watching along, rip to that.

Kevin

I ususlly watch these reactions at work, so dub is necessary for me for the sake of context. I hope they at least enjoy it more in sub and aren't just doing it to appease people.

No Consequence

well my ADHD and autism makes it unbearable to watch subbed so thanks for the 3 episode reactions at least now just waiting for naruto.

Why cant people let then watch how they like it was obvious they enjoyed the dub but people kept poking them to change acting like sub and dub aren't on equal levels smh

Rando calrissian

I need the next episode. This show is such a ride!

no. 21’s no. 1 simp

Simple, Because you cant understand Japanese. Everything sounds better when you can't truly understand the inflection or even the performance of the actor. And before anyone says "I could still tell a good performance even if it's in another language" You can do one. Because Spielberg once said while making Schindler's List, that the original idea was to have all the dialogue in German. But he scrapped that idea as he, one of the greatest and most influential directors of all time, wouldn't be able to judge an actors performance in another language. So I really don't think that many Otakus can claim they could. Hell, I bet even the Prequels dialogue sounds awesome when dubbed in Japanese. I've seen both subbed and dubbed of Re;Zero and I prefer the dub, especially for characters like Rosewall, Puck, Bettleguese, Felix/Faris and Willhelm. Plus, especailly with the second season when I'm watching both as they aired, I fine myself a little confused at part during the sub, but when the dubbed episode comes out I go "Ohhhh that's what that meant" but that may just be hindsight. But if you want to know what an actual "Bad" dub is supposed to sound like, go watch a clip Green, Green. Then understand how you can never say Re;Zero's dub is bad again.

I think the dub for this show is actually very good, up to you guys really can't go wrong for this show. If you will watch it in dub you should have the subtitles on its just my little advice.

Up2Snuff

Agreed. Marketa looked a bit lost and you could tell she wanted to switch back

Kevin

cant wait for u guys to keep watching this and so happy u r it truly is an amazing show

Luke

There’s just something about Japanese voice actors during the emotional scenes that make the sub versions of most anime worth it. Just my opinion. But whatever you guys can watch without strikes is best lol.

I prefer the show subbed, I really do. At it's best moments the performances outdo the dub. HOWEVER. The dub is 100% fine, it's quite good even. I can't believe how toxic you guys are too pester them so much about it. Seriously, let people enjoy things even if it's a little different from how you did. I actually feel that they had a much better chemistry with the show when they were watching it dubbed too.

good ass msg

Hey Normies, so very heartened to see you guys switched to subbed. You'll get the most out of the anime with this version. And honestly, you don't need to understand much Japanese at all to get the banter in the episode. The gist is more or less face-value (though I will admit, at points this story goes decently fast; which in my opinion makes it more complex and therefore unique). And as far as the name endings they say in Japanese (honorifics), Micky’s on point. It’s a way they refer to other people, depending on the relationship. Honestly, if you want to understand basic Japanese culture, and therefore enjoy anime more thoroughly, it be really worthwhile to at least remember the honorifics loosely. Or maybe you’re just curious Here’s a basic breakdown: -san = formal -chan = basically for a child (sounds cutesy) -kun = basically for a boy -sama = formal (respect) -dono = formal, official -tan = even more cutesy, affectionate, pet name **Side note: If you’re wondering why Subaru acts so over-the-top and awkward, it’s because he is. He’s supposed to be a typical shut-in, otaku-nerd. Just think of any geeky guy in school, that had to put on a boisterous front in order to socialize. In fact, his personality becomes a big part of the plot/his character development. I’ll keep it at that. Anyway, I appreciate you guys sticking through with this show. It’s friggin’ amazing. And only gets better from here on out.

Glad you guys switched over to sub. Trust me I know you have to look and read and also keep up with what is going on but it is much better to get a more accurate translation because this series is very confusing and it is important to get the right translation. You will get used to it soon and it is very important for how confusing season 2 gets which is where rezero actually get really good. Season 1 is confusing but not as quite as deeply connected and not quite as good overall.

L.C.

I think episode 7 will be a good example of why we wanted them to switch to sub

cesar p

He definitely got assassinated in his sleep and now it's a murder mystery in the mansion.

Victor Tran

OMG.!!! I saw Re: Zero a long time ago, watching this episodes again with you guys is refreshing my memory but it also reminds me of how much you will get to hate one specific character. Don't worry I won't spoil. Season 2 is AMAZING.!!!

Joanaver

all thse dub vs sub comments, lol this show is hot trash anyway

kivu_king

I love the dub on this show

Clafy71

Normies, down the line when u meet certain NEW characters the voices aren't as good as the main VA. Plus u guys r not at the big shot eps where you'll really hear the difference in VA through pure emotion. These 4 eps is only scratching the surface of Re: Zero. This dub is not as good as FMAB, Cowboy, or MHA. Watch more eps and you'll understand the switch up soon enough lol.

Alex cleveland

THANK YOU for switching to sub!

Trust me, once you guys keep going in the series and see some of the memorable scenes, you'll be glad you're watching the sub. It'll be the same way you felt while watching Hunter X Hunter

Theory of Hope

Subby YES!!! Fuck u dub bitches. NAH JK JK lmao. I love dub just this dub isn't good. Glad Re: Zero is in subbed and Death Note, and Naruto r in dub. Seems about right to me.

Alex cleveland

I don't think Marketa should get hung up on the one bit about formality. As far as I remember it's not an ongoing thing.

KevinFromNewYork

I was really excited about Re: zero but was not feeling it for the last episodes. Thanks for changing to sub, It makes a lot better.

Oh I guarantee it. During Hunter x Hunter they talked so many times about how much they liked the voice acting and how they couldn't imagine certain scenes dubbed, and I personally think the Hunter x Hunter dub isn't pretty good!

Suki

Sub or dub, I'm fine either way. I just can't wait to get deeper into the show. Btw, A few other Isekai anime: Sword Art Online, Rising Of the Shield Hero, That Time I Got Reincarnated As a Slime, No Game No Life, Gate, Overlord, Konosuba, In Another World With My Smartphone.......

Randy Cooper

I'd recommend sub strictly based on Subaru's VA, he's worth switching alone.

Jev Cor

it may seem like the sub and dub are fine with just this one episode but it'll definitely show later on in certain episodes why it's much better

Oh man they switched to sub! Once again, I'm not against dubs at all and am actually so happy they're doing it for Death Note. However, the Japanese voice acting for Re:Zero is so amazing for certain characters and scenes. Definitely gonna look forward to these more!

Suki

The Normies switched to the Subbed? *My Brain Trembles, Trembles, Trembles!!!!!!

Javier V2221

Since the Normies are new to this type of genre of anime; what's more, you have decided to switch to sub now. My suggestion is to take some time to dive in the story before making too much assumptions. Maybe find a time to watch three, four episodes in a row if your schedule allows you to do so, or watch some YouTube videos about Isekai from other anitubers. The show picks up its story pretty fast which should start to make sense soon

Nagisa

The sub is always better than dub when you watch on your own. But I’ll always say and think dub are always best for reactions because your can react and still know what’s going on without missing anything important. With this show i can already see them missing a lot of things.

I'm so happy you guys are watching the sub now. I'm ready for the adventure.
