And it wasn't really a 180 from Love to investigate Candace for fear of her using Forty for money rather than actually wanting to be with him, feels like Marketa is just continuing her circlejerk of how she really dislikes this show and just nitpicks for the sake of it. I say this only because this episode has some of the best acting performances and moments in this entire series but most of the post-episode discussion is just the same whining about women not being written well like we haven't had male characters like Henderson, Joe and the real Will talk about their white privilege

It seems like 90% of the issues had with this show is the constant bringing up of phrases like white male fragility, toxic masculinity and mansplaining, but believe it or not there are actually people out there who DO speak like that. To immediately decide that its a masked hatred of women is stupid considering most of these phrases were spoken by Delilah and her sister.

This story is satire and mostly written from the Joe’s perspective. The writers are mixed with women and I do think it’s cleverly written if you think about the whole story from a sociopath’s view of the world rather that outsider watching it happen

Definitely one of my favorite episodes. I May Detroy You is an amazing limited series on HBO that touches, on among other things- “date rape” but consent in general, and I highly recommend it.

The show was made and written by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble, based on a novel/series by the same name written by Caroline Kepnes. Berlanti is responsible for a lot of those CW style shows (Riverdale etc.), and Gamble's worked on Supernatural, The Magicians, etc. The original novel written by Caroline is very much written in this style, described as a "satire of a self-absorbed society".

This is definitely one of my favorite episodes, especially towards the end. Yeah, what forty did in this episode is terrifying. If you have a friend like that, you'd be in legitimate danger.

Also i think its important to remember that all the women (and men) are filtered by Joe's POV. So its not necessarily the writers view of women but what the writers think Joes view of them is
