You guys should watch the original Batman 1989 movie with Michael Keaton and see how much of Tim Burton's look and feel translates to an animated world seamlessly

Gotham’s look in the DCAU is a mix of several time periods, with 50’s cars, 30-40’s planes, blimps and fashion. It gets slightly more modern after the Superman series is established but over all it always looks old.

I hope so too. Like, not trying to say they should bite off more than they can chew. But it really is all the same universe. So why the hell not? I really doubt that every single one of them has seen all of the shows. I think they would be really surprised to find out that the show they grew up with has extensions to it.

If you ever want to find out who voiced who on TAS just look for it on the end credits of the show they always show who was on the show that episode.

Luis Arequipeno

The whole "I am vengeance" speech was also said by him in the Arkham Knight game, and it's just as cool lol.

"Because I have drowned"..... what rana?

Vendrix

I haven't seen this series in almost 2 decades. This will be such a nostalgia trip.

Johnny Blue

That old guy's voice... Is that King Bradley from FMAB???

Justin Neason

This nostalgia trip is so good. It makes me appreciate this series so much more as an adult

The show takes place in the 90s. Gotham is just very 30s themed while Metropolis next door is futuristic themed and their cops user laser guns as Lex Luthor paid for them. I hope they do Batman the Animated Series, then Superman the Animated Series... and then Justice League and Justice League Unlimited as they are all spinoffs of Batman the Animated Series and all in the same continuity.

And the time period of the show is kind of ambiguous. If you look carefully the year is stated in some episodes. However yes it’s canonically around the time they were released. But it’s supposed to be stylistically a hybrid of all the eras 1940s all the way till 1990s

To clarify, the first season (sometimes considered two seasons based on dvd or streaming service) started off as an anthology series and most of the episodes are indeed out of order. It really isn’t an issue to watch in the regular order you’re currently viewing it will only cause a few “where tf is robin” or “when did he break out of prison “ kind of situation.

This is one of the few versions of Batman I like cause this version isn't borderline psychotic. Also, this one seems more human.

Happy Birthday!

Thanks for going back to the I'm vengeance part to appericiate it. Also a small request, I'm sure it will be hard for the editor, but in a few weeks we are going to get a two part, could we get that as a double drop?

Kevin Conroy IS Batman. Different live action actors have done great work, but Conroy is the voice I hear in my head when reading the comics.

The Dork Knight

The guy that hit the tree didn't die. They weren't allowed to kill, so they had to be creative.

Jam

Im loving this trip down memory lane. Thanks for doing these <3
