This episode is the biggest yet in terms of explaining Homelander. The fact that he was raised in a laboratory and treated like a lab rat is precisely the reason he is the way he is, he has no regard for human life because he was raised with little to no human interactions except from doctors running tests on him all the time. He's never felt love, so he can't understand why The Boys would fight so hard to avenge people they've lost. It also explains his weird relationship with Stillwell, he has Mommy issues, plain and simple. The sad part is that he could have been a truly great hero if he was raised in a real home with a real family that loved him, but instead he was stuck in a laboratory and who knows for how long, it could have been well into adulthood that he was finally let out to be a hero. He is what Superman would have been had the Government swooped his ass up before the Kent's found him, or if you really think about it, he's what Eleven from Stranger Things would have turned out to be like if she hadn't escaped the laboratory and found Mike and the Gang, especially since both those people learned their social cues from the people that found them, Homelander never got that chance.

In real world logic they didn't... but in terms of tv... they definitely did because the viewer knows it's too soon for an endgame and viewers expect another shoe to drop... which it did.

I have the exact same feeling about The Boys, what a masterpiece. I read the comics years ago and the first season alone is, in my opinion, already superior to the comics. Fun fact: Stilwell* is also the actress in Back to the Future

I watched this show late last year, I swear I've watched every single reaction channels reaction to it. its really the best show on TV. Just watched the uncut you guy were engaged literally every minute. This episode particularly could have been a movie. I think Homelander and still well are the best actors/actresses. Writing is also 10/10 like micky said
