This episode is exactly why Kane should never be in charge of alliances ever again. I've lost count of the amount of times that he has single-handedly destroyed Clarke's carefully built alliances all because he doesn't talk to her and thinks he can make shit up as he goes. He is a terrible diplomat. Technically, Clarke and Monty are both right. Clarke has been put in this position because literally no one else is willing to do it. Everyone else who could do it has pushed it off onto her because they can't deal with the weight of such decisions. So ultimately, while Monty is right in that she should have consulted other people, he also has no place to hold her accountable because he was also unwilling to make the list. She's basically being forced to things that she doesn't want to do and then is being for making a decision that isn't liked by the people who forced her to do the thing that she didn't want to do. It's a really shitty situation and they all need to give her a break. *No one has a right to criticize her for decisions that she makes when they themselves are not willing to make those same decisions.*

So I love Monty but to defend not having Monty on the list and Jaha on it - the first 5 years are the most important, and Jaha would be a way better asset. Monty can learn but how fast? He can't learn everything Jaha knows in a year or even 5.

Clarkes' fear of hurting them with the truth is a reasonble one. Surely a shitty situation to be in. But lying will always come back to bite you. They were gonna mob because they, in a brutal way mind you, found out they were lied to about surviving and thriving. Back on the ark adults sacrificed their lives in the culling for thier children and families when they were given the truth about the dying ark. Likewise, on the ground the adults calmed down once jaha gave them a fighting chance and reasonable solution. As for when murphy got hung, that was done by a giant group of rebellious teenagers blinded by revenge. Clarke is doing her best for sure, but she need help leading and makimg tough calls as jaha made evident.

This is part where despite having realistic injuiries most the time this still occasionally has to go fictional territory and suspend disbelief. Not that I would've wanted Octavia to die though.

After years of watching, this is when I finally realized I did not like this show. Close your eyes and listen. It's a poorly written soap opera. I was fooled by the amazing visuals, genre and interesting overall concept too. Dawson's Creek was never good...

Getting stabbed with a sword is survivable, Falling from that height is survivable, Being lucky enough to survive both at the same time, very slim chance. But the old death fake out of "getting fatally wounded then falling into water" is pretty much a TV/Movie trope, I wouldn't hold The 100 to higher standards than I do any of those better TV/Movies, like Skyfall, two of the Bourne films and more.
