I find it very interesting how everyone keep saying "Sakura should have more self-respect, she's pathetic, she should say fuck that guy" and all but NO ONE questions the fact that Naruto has the exact same motivation and it's seen as a hero because he wanna save his friend after being betrayed, abandoned and a lot of other shit along the way. Yeah, Kishimoto doesn't know how to write women at all. But most of the flaws of the men are written almost in the same way and nobody says anything. Funny huh

Still, I'm really tired (not just of the Sakura bashing) but of the narrative that females only have value when they are badass fighters. Like, as a women myself, I get appreciation for the whole "Strong Independent" female characters, but at the same time they AREN'T the only type of characteristics that a female should be allowed to have to be deemed "not pathetic". I don't know why despite in 2019 and how woke ppl intend on being that traditionally femine traits are despised so much. There's nothing wrong with a woman who good at showing love and showing compassion and sensitivity. It's just like the whole Cinderalla thing where people hated on Cinerella because she didn't punch a guy in the nose like Anna or refused to get married like the chick in Brave. Femine traits are hated so much now it's like Women aren't respected unless they act like traditional men. God forbid a 12 year old girl cries and shows compassion for a guy she likes otherwise she's so patheric and have no love for hserself. Just wow. I suggest Chris watch that youtube video: Cinderella - stop blaming the victim and he may get some insite into what I am saying.

Unfortunately, Kishimoto has never been great at writing good main female characters. Tsunade and Temari are really the only females that are decently written.

Hey guys, I'm having problens to watch all Naruto & HxH reactions using my computer because everytime I click in the video it just turn blank. I saw a few other comments regarding the same issue. I bet there must be a compatibility problem between Patreon and vimeo (problably, because Youtube videos seems to work just fine ). Good to see Suraj and Chris recognizing Shikamaru is best character! Shikamaru, Kakashi, Lee and two characters that haven't appeared yet are my top five. Not going to name the other two just in case it counts as spoilers, but they show up in the first major Shippuden arc. Guy, Jiraiya, Orochimaru, Itachi, and Zabuza probably round out my top ten. Can't wait for the next triple drop though. This arc is dope!

Dude. I'm sorry. You can protest all you want, but at the end of the day, Sakura is the worst written character in the whole series. You can like her if you want, but she's easily the least effective female character of the shoenan genre. Second only to Orihime from Bleach. Even Kishimoto admitted that he really didn't like Sakura. And that the only reason he even made her, was because of his editorial staff demanded a "girl" on the three-man team. That's it. She was a literal afterthought.

Her problem just seems to be that she can never really stand out too much in any area(and I don't mean just in skill, i mean in emotions and mannerism as well) because then she ends up encroaching on some other characters territory. Like with how her relationship with Sasuke in this instance can't be too important or take up too much space in this story arc, because then she is encroaching on Narutos territory as a character. It feels a bit like she is supposed to be the emotionel core of the situation, the one who makes us realise what is at stake, butwe all know the real important relationship in this story is between Naruto and Sasuke, so it ends up being less impactfull, and making it hard to actually sympathise with Sakura.

I think it's funny how much Naruto fans hate Sakura. Especially considering how Sakura is based on Kishimoto's wife lol. People also don't understand Sakura's story at all which actually makes sense once Shippuden comes around. Her whole character arc is about her trying to find something that sets her apart from Naruto and Sasuke, if she were to just be another "badass" that wouldn't exactly set her apart. She's also suppose to be incredibly average, which makes her desire to be unique among naruto and Sasuke even more apparent.
