Itachi didn't show the slightest bit of care towards Sasuke, so I doubt he'll come back and kill him, and yes sometimes its best to let go rather than spend all your life focused on revenge. It sucks and it's not fair, but living a life solely to get revenge can end with you either losing everything (and the guy you want revenge on still goes free) or you in a ditch (once again the guy you want revenge on still lives).

I was always amazed by the stupidity of Kakashi's words here. No, no one will convince me it was not stupid. He could have simply asked him to calm down, or to not get in out on his friends, give him some really good advice, but then he actually went for "Quit revenge". Like seriously, what was he supposed to do, wait for Itachi to come back and kill him, or let him roam free without any punishment, or suggest drinking some tea together and living happily ever after? It's because the Leaf had no one with enough revenge determination against Orochimaru that he was basically wandering free for 13 years, and look how that turned out.

The movie is an actual movie... no spoilers but the character Dynamics change in Naruto all the time EXAMPLE: if you were to watch the movie before the attack on the leaf Village you'd be like "who is this bitch that's the Hokage and where's the Third?" Sasuke does not have an attitude in the movie because several things have not transpired yet you missed your sweet spot to watch the movie when you go back and watch it you say oh this happened before something else happened... the episodes that you skipped have nothing to do with the movie you skipped... a group of episodes that had to do with a mission just like the Land of Waves/The bridge builder... They went on a mission Sasuke got fucked up naruto pulled through & Sasuke is jealous... The end
