Yeah I noticed this too. I think it's because they're watching it on Blu-Ray, they tend to just have one english subtitle option but multiple language options. The subs on DVD are often different from crunchyroll etc

He can reflect any magical attack right back at its source while also amplifying the power. This is definitely one of those shows where you watch it over and over and catch little things and understand things better.

And what's even sadder about ban's backstory/motivations is that as things are right now, ban and elaine have no easy way of reuniting, since Elaine is dead and ban can never die to join her so the only option he has is to somehow bring her back to life.
