They WERE in the same boat when they first started throwing out that theory, then "How did they figure out who Naruto's dad is?" comments started flooding in. So it's been confirmed for them a million times over by now.

You spotted most of the differences :) There was also a difference where Jiraiya now ogles Tsunade/Shizune in the background art instead of Kurenai. I thought it was clever how they fully showed the new characters (Itachi and Tsunade) in this version and not the last one to avoid spoilering the audience. The extra animation sequences between Itachi and Kakashi, Naruto and Kabuto, and the Sannin were very cool too. I loved your reactions this week! Thank you for the triple drop. Dan was Shizune's uncle. Shizune and Tsunade don't have any actual blood relationship.

Its something that I found out by connecting some dots that they don’t really put much attention on, but every Hokage so far is related by blood in some way except one of them. These relations are direct, indirect, and distant. Theorize what you choose to with this information. I wont tell you how any of them are related or which one isn’t related or even if Naruto is related to any. And as a side note, the 4th trained Kakashi, not the reverse. A good way to remember this is to remember that Kakashi is only as old as an older brother to naruto, the fourth is old enough to be naruto's parent and pervy sage; who trained thefourth, is old enough to be the fourths dad.

regarding naruto's dad, at this episode a lot of people at the time were in the same boat you're in. We were all pretty sure its the Fourth Hokage, and were waiting for a conclusive evidence to confirm or debunk it.

Glad you guys paid attention to the updated intro. I love the part where itachi and kakashi face off in it.

He says it the same in the dub. They just picked the kiddy one. They say they watch it on either Hulu or Netflix, so one of them is the CN dub and the other is the Canada dub that has the cursing and stuff, because there's definitely a version where Jiraiya says he'll kill her. I was waiting for that part, but when he said stop you here and now I was like "wtf, that's not what he says."

The line that jiraiya said to tsunade in the Japanese version was a little more impactful to me, in the subbed instead of saying he would stop her, "right here and now.", in the subs he said I will kill you here and now. I know lots of people watched naruto dubbed but just thought I would point one of the differences that I felt was significant for me. I like both dubbed and subbed btw not saying one is better than the other haha.

3rd hokage taught the legendary sannin (orochimaru, Jiraiya and Tsunade), Jiraiya taught the 4th Hokage, 4th Hokage is the sensei of Kakashi, and Kakashi is the sensei of Naruto and Sasuke.

Geez, not everybody is related to each other. Just because characters say the same things, do the same things or have the same hair color doesn't mean they are related. Relation is a big thing in this show, so you dont have to try and guess, the show will tell you if characters are related.

I remember, when the manga was first coming out, the connection between Naruto and the Fourth Hokage was definitely "obvious" in the sense that it was the big fan theory. But, I also remember when it was finally revealed in the story, a decent chunk of fans were upset because they felt Kishimoto was just including it as fanservice, or that it was lazy.
