Jiraiya may seem tough, but he's got a point when he left Naruto to figure it out on his own. Learning something doesn't do you much good if someone holds your hand through the whole thing. A hint here or there is fine and all, but knowledge will stick if you learn it in your own way. Besides, some things can't be taught. Jiraiya is the fucking second best teacher I've seen in anime because of this episode alone. (Best is still Koro-sensei in Assassination Classroom).

not really a spoiler but Jiraiya was messing with naruto about rotation, he just wanted Naruto to figure out that he needed to spin the chakra in multiple directions by not technically telling him.
