So the thing with Meliodas' perviness is that he is the sin of wrath for a reason. So that kind of counter acts and shows the contrary side to him. You'll understand that later on why he is wrath, but at this point of the show that perviness is there to counter that exclamation that first episode gave. There is also another reason for that perviness, but that would be spoiler territory. Hopefully you read this Normies, love your reaction and I do hope you stick with the show cause it will get a lot better as it moves forward.

2 things: first; this is honestly one of the best new anime out and the fights are amazing, BUT this show shoots itself in the foot hard by how pervy it is. You'd think it pays off at so e point or becomes an actually funny joke but it never does. It is obnoxious and only gets worse. There's nothing redeeming about that aspect of an otherwise truly amazing show. 2nd; this show has a great dub and I think the sub isn't nearly as good. The voices aren't nearly as charismatic as the dub is. Please I'm actually begging do not switch to the sub. I definitely won't watch this if you switch. The dub is great and you'll miss a lot if you switch. Please do a poll or something to see off people want the sub or dub because people who like the sub will still watch the dub but people like me who watch the dub will not watch the sub version. So I hope you don't switch because I love this show but won't watch the sub reactions and neither will a lot of viewers.

Things will get better when Ban gets introduced, that’s when the show really kicked off for me. Meliodas is the type of character that shows more than he tells, and gets more depth as we see the actions he takes. The Pervy stuff is my only real problem with the show, but remember, Meliodas is not necessarily an upstanding citizen. He is the captain of the sins after all. Plus, his sin is wrath, he has shown little emotion so far, much less anger.

As a recent convert of this series (I watched all episodes and read up to the recent manga chapter), the groping is unnecessary. Even with the so-called "reason", the story would have been fine without it. It's a trope that didn't need to be in the story. That being said, I really like all the characters and the story itself. This anime, for all the hate it receives, still has an interesting over-arching narrative that is so deeply rooted in the characters and world building most people don't pick up on it until around the last 2-3 episodes of season 1; excellent fight choreography (moreso season 2 than 1); and some very interesting (from a psychology perspective), very likable characters that only grow on you as time goes on (praise the sun amiright?). There's a deep reason why Meliodas has pervy moments towards Elizabeth that you will get a superficial explanation for later in the season, but it's something they won't fully explain until season 3. It's too bad Chris is bowing out, but he's right, the plot doesn't pick up much until the end of season 1.

Honestly this is not a show to enjoy for its amazing, intricate storytelling like AoT.. Its a chill, fun show with badass main caracters. Meliodas is accually the most interesting caracter because theres much more to him than meets the eye. And i agree the over sexualization and pervy gag is kinda cringy, but you gotta put that aside to enjoy the rest. Mainly i enjoy this show because of the cool fun medieval vibes and badass moments. I think Nahid gets the appeal
