My Patreon is changing

It’s been a year almost since I launched The Bonny Snowdon Academy. A year that has given me a really good insight into how I want to teach and support other artists to develop their coloured pencil skills and also develop their confidence and (in some cases) their businesses.
Since launching my Academy I've realised that teaching from my own platform is where I can best help people. The Academy has a proper library of content; my exclusive Foundations Course; live streams that really help my students and let us really get to know each other; a platform that is easily navigable; rolling month payment process; Customer Service that is available 7 days a week; plus exclusive content as well, AND the whole back catalogue of pretty much every tutorial I've ever recorded.
Patreon has given me a great start to teaching online, and I’ve had fabulous support, many of my most loyal Patreon members joined me in the Academy last September and are still with me. However, Patreon is renowned for poor navigation and user experience and for their poor customer service, and the fact it takes all payments out on the 1st of the month regardless of when you joined.
Having been teaching on my own platform now for almost a year it’s really brought it home to me that this is how I want to teach and build my business without having to rely on a third party. For this reason, from September I will no longer be uploading new content to my Patreon account, my Patreon will be restructuring to have only 1 tier available at a cost of £10 per month for new members, and there will be a good selection of tutorials to work through. Please note any current members will stay on the tier they are on as long as they remain a member, of course, you can upgrade to the new tier if you wish.
All my new content will be available on my Academy, which will continue to work on a waitlist basis - I work this way as it’s easier to get to know members in smaller intakes and so far this has worked really well.
I want to be a role model for artists wanting to teach, and show them there is a way to create a great teaching platform without having to rely on third parties such as Patreon.
Thank you so much for your support and I look forward to continuing to support you whether you stay with me on Patreon or decide to join me in the Academy (the next intake will be in September).
