I have been given permission by Kerri-Ann Afford to use some of her imagery, and also some amazing images from Lizzy Mint. I will be starting the drum horse as soon as my personal piece of the two little girls on the pony is finished - which will be this weekend I hope - I have a workshop with the Dallas chapter of the CPSA tomorrow which I'm excited about, so not much drawing time tomorrow.
I just wanted to share these images with you - please don't use them for your own use without getting specific permission - so you can see what I have lined up - I am looking for some wild animals and have some beautiful birds in the side lines too. I really enjoyed the tonal dog, and would like to do some other tonal pieces as I think these are so useful in understanding shifts in values.
I have been asked to find pieces that have a little more character than just a face on shot - so the little lab pup and the spaniel I thought were fab! The dapple grey I just love - and the full shot dogs are gorgeous.
The little cairn terrier I'm thinking would be a great draw along speed piece - via youtube and we all draw along together, forget our inhibitions and just go for it!
I'll fish out the images for the wildlife - I'd love to do a tiger as I've never done one before properly in colour, and I have a wonderful image of a raven and a bob cat as well from our very own Ruth Hoyt :)
As you know I don't really do cutting corners or trying to make things speedy (I know I draw quite quickly lol) - for me coloured pencil is about the process as well as the end result, so you won't find me using solvents or blending powders, but what you will get is a good, solid foundation in the basics, lots of coaching and confidence boosting tips when I'm drawing, and the best thing of all is that you're part of an amazing community - there's nothing better :)
