August’s main tutorial
Added 2020-07-22 21:27:14 +0000 UTCIf you’re sick of layering and using light pressure, finding a combination of pencils to create the right colour then this tutorial is definitely for you! I’m using techniques to simplify a complicated subject. Concentrating on the darks and the wrinkles first and foremost and using just a few colours - mostly pablos because they go down on the pastelmat so softly. I’m allowing the grain of the pastelmat to show through as it helps with the texture so no battling with the grit!! It’s big - a full sheet of pastelmat - but it happening really speedily. I really think you’re going to enjoy her 🥰

just saw this. Blick's said they were going to start carrying the board as there were several of us who sent in requests. You might want to go on their site as they have an email special for new product info. Forget what they call it. But ask if they are planning to add the pastelmat board. The more times we ask for it the more chance we get it. In the meantime I may give Jackson's a try.

The pablos on the dark grey act a little more like pastels than coloured pencil (with less dust) so the lay down is quick. With the fabriano you will need to be more concise and then burnish to get rid of tooth
