I mentioned yesterday about maybe creating an extra tutorial each month that focusses on the real basics - still going into detail, and not changing my techniques, but really drilling down into the basics. I'll stick to one brand of pencils, (where I can - I may need to use a specific white) and I'll try to really slow down and talk about things in detail. I think the majority of my tutorials do go into detail, but I want to talk about the real basics. Here are three images I've chosen, I won't do the whole image, but will concentrate on the cat's eye, the horse eye, and the dogs nose. This month, is going to be the horse eye. As a beginner you will start to understand the reasons why certain pencils are chosen, how to pick out the colours, how to start to layer, and why layering is so important when using coloured pencils. If I have time (who needs sleep eh lol!) I will perhaps try to do the piece twice on different surfaces so you can see the difference between a smooth surface and a more textured one.
These tutorials will be available for everyone on all the tiers.
I'll aim to draw and upload this video as soon as I can :)
