Which colours for drawing black fur
Added 2020-04-29 12:17:14 +0000 UTCIn this video I go through all the colours I used when drawing Ryan, the gorgeous black lab. From the usual suspects, to those more unusual colours, like yellow ochre and pink!
It's quite common to see a lot of blue dogs rather than black, and I was very guilty of doing this, because of course we are always told black fur isn't black!
But how do you get a range of colours into you drawings, but still have them look realistic.

Great, thank you 😊 I’ve noticed you have a few ‘staples’ that crop up a lot (like the cool greys and the light cobalt for glazing) so think I’ll add to my collection with those as I only have the Polychromos 24 set plus a few extras.
2020-05-03 08:29:58 +0000 UTCI would say that as I've progressed I've added far more. I would suggest as someone starting out you choose the colours you see and stick with those. As you do more you will start to see more :)
