Spoilt For Choice - Part 1 The Background

The whole of the background is in real time, however I have only voiced over the first 50 minutes as the final hour and a bit is just exactly the same process. I show you the colours I use as I use them. You'll see that the neopastels go down quite sketchy to begin with - it's best to add all your colours first before blending - I discovered that as I was going through the piece. Once you've got all the colour down, then you can start to blend gently with the paper stump. You will probably find that the pencil stump isn't quite enough, so I used a microfibre cloth to gently rub over - I used the cloth that cleans my glasses! You can buy them from Amazon - I suspect that pan pastel soft tools will work as well - especially the larger sponges.

Yes they will blend with mineral spirits - I wouldn’t blend with my fingers on pastelmat though 😉 the blend so well just on their own though

They do - and I’ll be doing a piece using the water soluble ones 😊

Only because you were saying these could be sharpened, which I wouldn't do as the pigment is too precious for me. LOL. I wonder if the Neocolor (wax crayons) will work well on pastelmat?

Sorry! To blend. Also her fingers.
