This is the video I took last night to try and work out how I was going to do the background for the cat tutorial. As you can see if you watch it - it's not particularly successful, but was useful as I now know that panpastel on drafting film doesn't really work - not if you want colour that's stable and won't wipe off. I used panpastels, fixative and I used the Windsor and Newton Pigment Markers. I tried the panpastels on a separate sheet of paper under the film - but sadly it was too subtle for what I wanted. So I think back to the drawing board, I'm going to use pencil to create a background, but I've also bought some Caran D'Ache Neopastels to will have a play with them too. The pans were dusty, I'm sure they don't have to be, but they were with me, and my hands were filthy - again that's just me, but I'm really not a huge fan - purely down to the dust and the dirtiness really.
Oh and the sound is awful - it's a quick off the cuff video - not planned, so apologies for the sound!
