Hi Sheila, off the top of my head for a brown donkey, I'd be using greys, warm greys for the first layers, probably some orangey colours maybe around the muzzle area, and then using your walnut brown, bistre, nougat It's important to work out what colours you can see - if you send me the photo I can help you a little more - email me on bonny.snowdon@gmail.com :)
