The phone can be saved and should be returned to me this week. I plan to put it in a sturdier case because it obviously needs it. It does mean if you sent me your symbol via KiK and I did *not* put it in your private google folder already (you'll have the link if I did..) you'll need to send it again.
This is the music recommended to me today and how I woke up my ears: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_i1xk07o4g
Pics:
On that note.. I found a delightful pic waiting for me today in someone's folder. They have their legs up the wall, back flat on the floor and his head dangerously close to a door that could swing open...
I've also received a picture made of words - a special, private spot that a patron decided to create and share with me. I quite enjoyed following his imagination along. Quite fun!
Personal Files:
Pita would like to switch to doing batch editing instead of my willy-nilly as-the-mood-catches-me approach. In the gesture of not wanting to wear the poor dear down, I've set the 25th of the month for when personal sessions will be sent out. It means he can edit when it fits into his life instead of feeling as if he's starting/stopping. His personality is truly the type that he thrives on immersion and long work sessions for anything creative. It also means that I will freeze the personalised file tier mid-month and then reopen (if space is available...) on the 1st. This is going to be noted in the tier, so don't worry about remembering it. You don't have to change anything that you're doing. Routine is good, right? Right.
The binding files are being finished first, I love the creative bits that is going into them and can't wait for you to experience it! Thank you for taking the time to create your symbols and share them with me. If you don't know what I'm talking about, listen to The Collector's Public/Private Invitation. I'm keeping it short enough that it can be replayed easily, yet long enough that you can get the benefit from it.
Books:
So.. some of you have recognised the cover of the Atomic Habits (James Clear) book. The book repeats a lot of what is in his free articles, but I like writing in books and passing them on. I feel like for those on the goal-setting treadmill, it is a way to step off of that. I don't like feeling as if most of my day is scheduled, that truly bogs me down, but I do like challenging the status quo of my life and adjusting. There's always something to learn, yes?
I'm currently going through Getting Things Done after raving reviews from people I admire in my life. While I don't have a lot in common with the M-F suit & tie crowd (other than loving a guy in a suit..).. I do feel like this pandemic life change for others has rippled into my life. Friends who had to get up early for an hour commute, now work from home in a dress shirt and boxers (zoom attire). Another friend decided she wanted to start a GTD book club and gifted the book to her victims. I did tell her that completely ruins book club, but she's a fellow bossy boots so ... book club it is.
Anyone else *still* dealing with a shift in their social life due to their friends/family work life changes?
A super dear-to-me couple recently moved to the UK. You may recall me mentioning that my circle was working together to get them here. They're getting settled prior to Brexit AND it's a lousy time to job hunt. (Che incubo!) The Dream Job interview is coming up on Thursday and I'd appreciate loads of good vibes heading towards the UK. It would truly be the highlight of my year to have this work out for them.
I spent part of my Sunday hemming her trousers prior to this interview. She's also wearing my grown-up shoes, blouse, jacket and taking my professional bag. I told her I feel lucky that she didn't go through my bras!
And now that I've typed that out, I'm wondering if some guys are wondering wtf women get up to loaning clothes out this way. High-end clothing lasts forever and so it's super satisfying to pick up second hand (I try to avoid new basic pieces, same with many in my circle..). I'm also on the short side, which means lots of experience hemming items or else I'd never get to wear maxi dresses or palazzo pants. It ALSO means my friends know that my wardrobe is the one to browse if you need certain pieces for a one-off thing.
p.s. speaking of friends.. I've privately told a few of you about a friend's unexpected family tragedy this month as we chatted about life/balance/flow. SbE has been a fun creative outlet for me, an incredible emotional feast of NRE (and then steady happy!), but also has easily paid for itself - mic, hosting, some tech stuff, etc. This friend has a young family, is an underpaid key worker, and has a husband that works out of town every week. I was able to help her get back home thanks to my harem's support. She accepted the help because she knew it came from "a hobby project" and felt like free money vs. digging into my actual bank account. I love that this thing I do, that attracted you in, provided for this person that you'll never meet to go support people that I'll never meet.. and we are all the better for it. That's flow. That's swim. Oh.. and swim is the next trigger word... excited? ;)
