Phone / KiK / etc..
Added 2020-08-15 16:34:42 +0000 UTCSoooo... my phone had an unfortunate mishap. I refuse to replace it, because I like the camera/etc on it, so I've sent it out to get fixed. Hopefully it won't take too long! But it made me realise that I've likely missed quite a few messages through KiK and whatnot.
I'm one of those people that never drops their phone in the toilet or sink, never cracks the screen, etc, etc... so I think this was just a bit of humble pie to come my way. ;)

In Feb, I definitely feel like I'd miss it lots. Now, it's mostly when I want to share a quick pic of something with friends or family. I know that having the long break from the usual routine changed quite a bit of my habits! I've saved a lot on coffee, I've had waaaay more "get togethers" sitting on grass (which I prefer to the pub, so hey!, but I do miss the cafes..). etc.

I recently had a notice from my provider about an upgrade/etc and made the throwaway comment that I planned to keep my phone til it died. In the states, I had a (note? I think?) for aaages... and only upgraded because the GPS kept going belly up if I got a text message. On one particular hairy trip around Wash DC, the GPS/text message did it's battle and I ended up a pretty shady section of town. But, I walk everywhere here and have only used the GPS while on a train to figure out the next stop (welsh town names). Camera & battery life used to be my main requirements. Now that covid keeps me around the house more, it is only about the camera. Oh.. and it has to play Among Us, because of course that's what my circle happens to be addicted to right now.

2020-08-16 12:38:15 +0000 UTCWell.. I guess we are in sync. Apparently half of my phone's screen decided to go on strike . So the phone is hard to use at the moment. I'll have to manage until a new one arrives next week.
