Pop! and Bells -- The tylluan isn't involved...

I love the owl so very much. A patron drew it and I'll let him decide if he wants to take the credit for it. He had a few owls, but this one in particular decided to speak to me. Tylluan is the Welsh word for owl and utilises that oh-so-challenging "ll".  If stuck in a world where I could only speak Welsh, I'd be the sort to dance around any word with "ll" in it.

Thanks to Sami, I've learned the Pop! noise needs to be reposted for all patrons to be able to download it. I'm also adding in the bells, mostly because I found those first!

Btw, many of you appear to be online right now. I promise that I'm not ignoring you, I'm being proactive and recording the CtD for tomorrow.

Oh.. the ll's is also a reason why I almost missed a train stop a while ago in Wales. LaNellEe and Llanelli didn't click for me until I happened to be *looking* at the sign while the overhead announcement went off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngAoKSrNt5c Tip for all non-Welsh speakers, if you're going travelling get a run-down of town names because some sound absolutely NOTHING like what they look like.. and the dear, lovely people here will tell you it's an easy phonetic alphabet language. It probably is after some serious immersion into hearing the language, but I hear more French, Chinese, or Arabic languages in my neck of the woods.

People love that town name. I see pics of it pop up regularly! Archfarchnad is still my absolutely favourite. I don't say that one correctly either.. because it never fails to make me laugh.

It's not. I can say tortilla til the cows come home (well, cows are scary in the UK, look at the death rates!).... If you open up google translate, it'll pronounce tylluan for you. I think that's why I like the greetings bore da! nos da! All easy.

Thank you for the sound files, Mistress! Good job on the owl!

Reminds of my school days when we heard about the town with the 58-letter-name in Wales. Quite a few “ll” in it, too: Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

CtD is definitely something that makes me look forward to Mondays. I’m now curious about the Welsh “ll” sound now (and assuming it is nothing like the “ll” en Espanol...)

That is a great and very expressive owl . Well done
