Checking the Diary - Mon 27 July 2020

Just a note, the schedule will be updated for this week. I'm having a think on what I want to cover this week with you... so... it may change as we progress. We'll see!

Disclaimer: This week's CtD has a what can only be described as a "stage show hypnosis sampler" in it. I do not think you need privacy, a sofa, or concentration. You only need a sense of humour.

Warmly,

Mistress

I actually ended up asking Pita if I mentioned pans in the CtD. I've been taking a short break from my focus pills (resumed today) and you truly left me wondering just how far those rambles went... ;) This is truly going to showcase my mundane side - but I have a favourite skillet that my friends razz me about regularly. The first thing I "teach" people in everyday life that .. umm.. enjoy kitchen chores for me... is that you never, ever put soap in my skillet. Only hot water, maybe salt if you need friction, scrub. May your new frying pan give you as much joy! I'm not answering the sauce question because it's a *story* and I'm supposed to be working. Cookie, maybe if you sent a tweet over to bic they'd work out their UK issues? You're familiar with twitter. M.E.

I haven't been to a beach, without a jacket on, since last summer. I have a feeling my beach, without a jacket, window is closing quickly here in the UK! The upside is when the weather changes, the beaches are open to doggos again (ahem, cookie..) and my doggo goes NUTS at the sight of all of that water. The wishlist is mostly a lark, although I shared it with a friend and he made me swear to not look at what disappears from it (I think that's a setting? Who knows..). Anyway, I think setting up a wishlist is enlightening. It's fun to put things on there that I'd never buy for myself... and stuff that I use regularly and enjoy. I think I could have bored all of you with endless Kaffe Fassett. I was meant to go to an event in April that celebrated his designs. Obviously, that didn't happen. Btw, thanks for sharing your blog info with me. Not sure if you'd like to share it here publicly... but you are welcome if you'd like?

SJ, I realise that not all messages require a response... and some do, but life interferes and I don't get to them. My life finding a better balance now that the move is done. I've also done a lot of personal work on dealing with the covid changes. Early on, like many folks, I think the "can't.." "but.." if only.." things really kept tripping me up -- even when I felt like it wouldn't. Thank you for the sweet compliment. I like making your day. I can't believe I actually have a wannabe shipbuilder in my midst and it didn't work out. What a shame. Perhaps it is time to fire up YouTube and pick up a smaller version? Happy Monday to you, SJ.

OOOhh pens... Sorry.. I ordered a new frying pan today.. so I was probrably projecting. Maybe Xtra Bold is an American Designation? This is outside my area of expertise but they look very similar to the 1.6mm BIC Crystal Large that you find in europe. It's a plan then. Dave has already offered to build the boat so I'll take on the challenge of preparing the meatballs - does Mistress prefer tomato or cream (vegan) based sauce? :D About the books: I feel we will get along so very well. That's top wholesome. <3

Dear Empress, I don't really expect a response when I drop you a message. I take satisfaction in just knowing that I've left you a little something that might brighten your day, hopefully bring a smile to your face as you read off my half-hypnotized ramblings. Your responses truly, truly make my day! As for shipbuilding, that's a crushed dream of mine, having been rejected from a shipbuilding institution (due to me listening to the wrong people on what to write the essay on). I guess if I gave up on it that easily it wasn't really my dream... but maybe working towards yours is motivation enough for me! Yours, SJ

Tier stuff: Stay where you are, no worries there. It's just unpublished so just-wandered-in folks won't see it as an option anymore. I didn't realise I could use that particular tool in Patreon. It allows me to not change a thing for my veterans. I'm guessing if everyone leaves it that means it'll just poof? Who knows? Who cares? Life is too short for that kind of brain clutter. No.. love.. not pans. Pans might make sense. They're PENS. Bic Cristal Xtra Bold to be precise. If we didn't have a pandemic going on, I'd probably send my Dad to WallyWorld to grab a few. I have a feeling they're cheap in the states. And, the reality is this -- how entitled am I to have plastic pens shipped (flown?) 3,000 miles over to me. Oh. Ha. I assumed (because I'm American) that bic is American. It's not. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bic_Cristal So tell me, as a member of the EU (til Dec) why the UK doesn't have these xtra pens? Why did the Americans take them all? Why can't people in Britain be xtra? I've seen city centre here on Scotland match days and let me tell you, some of those dudes know a lot about xtra (I love, love, love match days against Scotland. Mmm.. can't wait for sports to return!). And, if you need more entertainment in your life, read this: https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidvinjamuri/2012/08/30/bic-for-her-what-they-were-actually-thinking-as-told-by-a-man-who-worked-on-tampons/#35d80dc33ab8 Boat: Technically, I also live in a town by the sea but I have no idea what a traditional Welsh fishing boat might be, probably a coal barge. Anyway.. I'm up for that challenge *BUT* it must be possible to assemble it with an Allen wrench. (allen wrench has another name, but it completely escapes me and I'm not googling allen wrenches for fear it'll lead to reading about them for too long!) I also insist on a serving of vegetarian meatballs and the ikea red jam. I've built a goat pen out of wooden pallets, I'm up to this challenge! Books: I like being gifted books that have been previously read. Bonus if the person underlined or made notes in the margin. One of my pets has my previously-read copy of A Box of Matches (N. Baker). I knew I'd be gifting it to him so along the bottom of the pages I wrote notes - including one word for each letter of the alphabet to describe him. It was fun. Probably slowed my reading quite a bit but here we are years later and I know that he still has it.

Goddess is never late. Nor is She early; She arrives precisely when She means to. That being said, I’ll be waiting on the schedule with baited breath. With quarantine/lockdown/social distancing in effect, I’ve missed my beach time this year. Can’t wait to check out your wishlist. Seeing the things someone likes/would like to have can tell you a lot about them. :)

Raven Heart

Goood morning, Mistress! Thank you for the update. Looking forward to this week's schedule. Delays are never Mistress' fault. She's never early or late, we all know that. :P Sooorry to bother you with admin type stuff... but should I change to the new tier or keep in the old one? Does it make a difference for you? Pans? What pans? You piqued my curiosity... Looking forward for Dating tips with Elswith. :P I like random gifts. That "I was going about my life and this made me think of you" kind of gift. As with many other things, I like to be thrifty and be thoughtful and deliberate about what I gift (I can only take joy if I'm gifting something meaningful). That's why I like to gift books, if you look hard enough you can always find a book that says "I'm paying attention to you." Have a great week! Sincerely yours, PS: I live in a town by the sea.. There's still some traditional fishing boats around. I feel I have an advance on the boat building. I just need to get by the dock and start taking notes. Maybe we should build the boat in parts and send them all to you for assembly, along with the most challenging ikea instructions leaflet ever.
