Happy Saturday - How the Sausage is Made

Hello.

I'm attemping to break the habit of good morning/evening because I have lovely dave who is hours ahead and adorable john who is hours behind. Can I reasonably expect everyone to be my time zone? (0 GMT - aka "London Time", I think we're at 0.. maybe not.)

For those who do NOT want to know "how the sausage is made", skip this post. But do enjoy the clear crystal image. Isn't it sparkly?

In my personal life, I've been playing more with rope. My favourite tie is definitely the mermaid tie and I'm wondering if I can squeeze in time to ombre dye my rope. Do I have any other shibari fans? Do I have anyone else that sometimes forgets to properly "hide" their toys? At least rope can be passed off as being for macrame. 

I think my quiet cottage in the woods needs at least three dedicated rooms - one for play and all of my fun, fun toys and the other for recording perversions for all of you. Both should be sound-proof. 

Emails/Messages:  I do read all of the messages that come my way, you may find there is a lag in my response. It is important to me to give a genuine response. You take the time to write to me and I want to give careful consideration to my reply. 

Granted, some of the hilarious notes I get don't require this amount of thought and I do appreciate those quirky messages as much as the thoughtful updates!

I maintain a balance in my life that requires regular screen-free time. 

It is during this time that my creative impulses arise and I jot these into my trusty bullet journal (BuJo). If I ever randomly lose my BuJo in a coffeeshop, someone is going to get QUITE the interesting read!   

This balance means that my creative writing time one morning may be entirely devoted to a patron's personal file. It could also be eaten up by my career as a freelance writer with no SbE writing at all (sad, huh?). Later, I may curl up in a garden chair and answer messages while sipping coffee. Or, I may find that recording has taken longer than expected and I drop everything and do a few hand-craft items with no screens or words involved at all. 

It is because of this balance that you get content that makes *both* of us happy. Genuine, real, and not rushed. It is also because of this balance that your notes may take a few days to get a response. 

Now.. I will say that all of you have been nothing but kind and considerate. I've had no complaints at all. I'm writing this because it is important to me that you know a bit of the behind the scenes.

 In my everyday life as a Mistress, I take the responsibility for those I play with quite seriously. I view the notes you send to me as a part of aftercare and a good Top is tuned into those needs. 

I have no idea how others hypnotists do it because I've carefully avoided being influenced by anyone else. This needs to be how we do it, how we connect. I've received messages through YouTube and SoundCloud on how to mass promote Spoken by Elswyth. 

After careful consideration with those I trust, I realise that isn't my goal. SbE will grow organically but it will also grow in a way that I can get to know the new arrivals as well as I know many of you already.  

Thankfully, not all of the thousands of views have decided to contact me personally ;) There's a core group of you that do so regularly. 

Shortly after starting SbE, I realised there are a few bits of equipment that I'd like to upgrade to make recording/editing an efficient process. My microphone is a condensor mic which means it has the terrible tendency to pick up extra room noise. In my world this noise can be the following: 

beep of delivery truck, neighbour adding a loft, seagulls doing their grouchy noise (city seagulls are not the same as beach ones!), magpies arguing, people on the sidewalk arguing, my woofer-dog doing a woof, or even a happy shout from the neighbour's kids through the wall... etc.

The goal is to upgrade to a dynamic mic that will cut out most of that re-recording/editing time, plus a mic that will continue to work with my particular voice pitch. I've realised as I read more and more and MORE microphone reviews that lots of them are geared towards loud guys doing podcasts. Now, nothing against loud guys doing podcasts, but I don't think my voice has much in common with theirs. 

The other goal is to find the best way to efficiently share individual files. At the moment, I'm using Firefox Send because I've found google drive to be finicky. 

Today you can expect a flurry of mp3s as I make the previous files available for download.
