I had a bit of an internet snafu last week (construction in my street knocked out the internet for a while), but it did allow me to focus on the contest footage and I'm happy to announce I finished it all today. There are some amazing routines by fan favorites Zia, Alina and Stormy as well as some young newcomers: Zhalaine, Selene and Kana.

2022-05-31 07:45:50 +0000 UTC@CJoe: To be frank, I was actually convinced that everyone who has been around here long enough to see a lot of videos disappear because of some YT algorithm doing its thing is downloading everything as soon as it is released, as a precaution. I believe there was even an incident where the entire channel was killed, was it not? Better to be on the safe side than to see our favorite videos disappear into Nirvana. And of course having the videos always ready on my NAS is simply more convenient then scrolling through a looong list of Patreon posts. @GGP: That's odd indeed. I can confirm that it is definitely not the age restriction, because I tried it with the Hyper Felicity video, which is also age restricted and it works fine. As I said, 4KD allows to store an auth token for an age-verified YT account which it then uses to access all selected YT videos. I am very certain that the download always fails when YT decided to encode the video to MKV format instead of MP4. YT always separates the audio part from the video part to play them both back simultaneously and I believe the MKV audio codec is not compatible to be merged into an MP4 (that was exactly the error message I got from Avidemux when attempting to convert the WEBM file to a MP4, but it saved it as a MKV without problems) and merging is exactly what 4KD does, it tries to grab both the audio and video streams and attempts to join them back together. I guess it looks for an MP4 and an MP3 and only works if it finds both, while MKV videos simply do not have an MP3 stream at all. Anyway, if your video format is the same every time, then there is probably nothing you can do about it in case YT doesn't even offer you the option to choose the preferred codec but simply decides on its own on a case-by-case basis, due to some weird algorithmic analysis going on after an upload.

2022-05-30 23:00:40 +0000 UTCI'm still using the exact same upload format I've been using for years. I'm pretty sure it's the age restriction giving 4K Downloader some problems lately. It needs you to log in to a verified account to gain access to the stream. However, currently even that isn't working. Hopefully they will figure it out in a future update. Using a different audio format won't do anything, since youtube converts every video uploaded to their servers automatically. I think this problem has been occuring ever since youtube disabled embedding of adult rated videos. That made accessing the streat impossible unless you accessed it from the specific youtube page. The downloader apps will have to figure out a way to keep the specific video page open while downloading. The webm file you got from the browser extension is probably already a converted stream, but not the actual file on youtube, which - if I recall - is in MKV format (or MP4 for 1080p).

Something seems to be off with the video, though. 4K Downloader can't access it, even though it is configured to use a valid Google account to bypass YT age restriction. Is there anything different about the upload format of this one compared to previous videos that broke its downloadability? I ruled out YT being the cause due to some new protection mechanisms because your most recent age-restricted videos can be downloaded without problems, just not this one. Edit: It seems to be the audio part of the video that is causing the issue. I was able to grab the .webm version via the "Video DownloadHelper" Browser extension and upon trying to convert it to .mp4 via Avidemux it warned about incompatible audio codecs, which I assume are also the reason why 4K Downloader warned about not being able to parse the URL. So, if you pay more attention to only use compatible audio codecs in the future, we all would greatly appreciate it.
