*EARLY ACCESS* Food Wars Season 1 Episodes 1, 2 and 3 Reaction

SOMA'S ROAST PORK, COOKING FOR ERINA AND PASSING THE FIRST EXAM! Soma and his father Joechiro are the owners of Yukihira Restaurant. Soma challenges Joechiro again to a cooking duel which is judged by Mayumi whom proclaims Joechiro as the winner to Soma's disappointment. Later, an urban life planner called Yaeko enters the restaurant threatening to close down the restaurant for development in the city but Soma protests saying that it is his dream to maintain his restaurant business. She replies that if he fails to satisfy her taste buds then she'll close the restaurant so he accepts her challenge. However, when returning to his restaurant the next day, he finds his whole restaurant vandalised with a lack of decent ingredients left. Soma is enraged by such a criminal act and Yaeko threatens him by making him a meat dish despite him not having any meat. Soma accepts the challenge and makes a pork roast dish using potatoes and wrapping that with bacon. Yaeko and her assistants find the dish to be extremely delicious and find themselves ridiculed. Later on, when Joechiro returns to the restaurant, he tells Soma that he'll have to close down the restaurant for a few years due to needing to help a friend with some job elsewhere. Soma is disheartened by this news and is informed that he must study at the Totsuki Culinary Academy despite only 10 percent of the students there graduating. 

Meanwhile, at Totsuki Academy, Erina is an examiner there who tastes a few students' dishes only to be repulsed by them and makes them all fail. Later on, the Academy students gather around a kitchen for the entrance exam with Erina as the examiner again but after she explains her rules for admission, all the Academy students flee apart from Soma due to her extremely high standards. Erina is surprised that Soma wishes to make a meal for her but she accepts and allows him to make a dish using eggs. However, after observing his dish to be only scrambled eggs, she feels he wasted her time. Although, he tells her that this is transforming furikake and she notices the jellied broth underneath. She tastes it and is captivated by his innovative dish of using jellied broth cubes with the rice. However, when Soma asks her if he is good enough to enter the Academy, Erina's arrogance and pride gets in the way therefore, fails him on this test due to his lower class status. However, afterwards Senzaemon tries out Soma's dish and sends him his acceptance letter to attend. In the third episode, Megumi leaves her hometown to enter the Academy despite being a nervous wreck knowing how tough it is to be accepted there. She enters the opening ceremony where Senzaemon announces all the rules. Afterwards, Soma introduces himself to the crowd as wanting to be the one to win the whole ordeal angering the other students. Then, Erina interrogates Soma on why he's here since she didn't accept him in and he tells her that he got an acceptance letter. Megumi grows extremely anxious about her chances of survival in the cooking competition and hopes to not be paired with Soma but ironically does in the first assignment. In the first assignment, the Chef Roland Chapelle orders the students to cook a French dish called Boeuf Bourguignon and Soma hasn't even heard of it making Megumi take the initiative to start cooking some mushrooms. However, a few competitors decide to ruin their chances by pouring a large amount of salt in their pot which creates disaster for Soma and Megumi. Megumi panics immensely as time runs out but Soma decides to improvise by using honey to tenderise the meat. Soma manages to finish his dish within thirty minutes to Megumi and everyone's surprise. When Roland tastes the dish, he is very impressed and passes Soma and Megumi with an A rating.
