THE HEALTH INSURANCE OFFER AND WALTER DECIDES TO GET TREATMENT! It's all about choices in this episode. Walter and Skyler attend their wealthy friend Elliott's birthday party and reunite with him and his wife Gretchen. In the birthday party, Elliott talks about how he formed Gray Matter Technologies with Walter and Elliott asks Walter if he can work with them again. Walter declines saying that he has some personal issues now but Elliott offers him to cover his health insurance. Walter gets upset with Skyler accusing her of telling Elliott about his lung cancer. She tells him that Elliott just knew something was wrong so she had to tell him. Walter gets really upset and refuses to speak to her for a while. Meanwhile, Jesse attends a job interview trying to convince the interviewer that he is a good salesman but the interviewer rejects him on the basis of lacking experience and having no college degree. Jesse gets frustrated and reunites with an old friend called Badger who is working as a mascot for the company. Badger asks if he could have some of that crystal meth so Jesse shows him where he and Walter used to cook, in the RV. Jesse tries to make crystal meth the way Walter cooked it but was unsatisfied with each batch so he threw them away. However, Badger got really angry after the third attempt and brawled with him over it desperately wanting some crystal meth. Jesse fights him off, kicks him out of the RV and ditches him.
Skyler talks to Marie and Hank about not understanding why Walter would refuse treatment for his lung cancer especially when they can cover the cost so Skyler holds a family meeting with everyone. She uses a pillow to allow everyone to share their thoughts about Walter's options telling Walter that he must get the treatment. Hank agrees and Walter Jr. scolds his father for his cowardice of refusing to take chemotherapy. Although, Marie counters the previous arguments by saying that it's ultimately Walter's choice whether he wishes to get treatment or to die in peace which angers Skyler who really wants her husband Walter to be alive. Marie adds that some of the patients she sees are usually miserable after they receive treatment and Walter finally talks saying that he doesn't want to suffer after getting treatment with Skyler having to clean up after him and taking constant medications as well, so he tells everyone that he won't get treatment. However, the next day, Walter has a change of heart and tells Skyler that he will get treatment. So Walter goes in for his first chemotherapy session and receives a phone call from his ex girlfriend Gretchen who offers her condolences and tells him that he must accept Elliott's health insurance offer to cover the costs of chemotherapy.
