THE WALKING DEAD SEASON 1 EPISODE 3 REACTION

The Walking Dead: Season 1 Episode 3 Reaction. Another great episode, this one is more character rather than action oriented which is a nice change. Firstly, Merle is seen panicking after seeing zombies trying to enter the roof and struggling to escape his handcuffs because he was left behind by the other survivors. He talks to himself about beating up a guy and struggles to get close to the tools near him to break his handcuffs. Meanwhile, Rick and his team of survivors ride to the rural area to be reunited with another team of survivors with Glenn following them from behind in a stolen, red car. As they ride, Shane tries to have a fatherly bond with Lori's son Carl by telling him that he'll teach him how to fish. Lori, Shane and their team of survivors hear Glenn in a red car coming towards them and Andrea's sister called Amy asks him frantically if her older sister Andrea is okay. Glenn replies that she is and that everyone is fine apart from Merle who they had to leave behind. Rick is shocked to find Lori and Carl and reunites with them while the sisters Andrea and Amy reunite. Rick tells Lori that he needs to return to Atlanta to save Merle who was left behind but Lori refuses that he just came back to them and that it's extremely dangerous for him to be out there. Later, Carl screams from the forest and Rick, Shane, Jim, Morales, T-Dog and everyone rush in to find out what happened but thankfully, Carl didn't get bitten but they end up finding a zombie eating the flesh of a dead deer. With their weapons, they all strike the zombie before it attacks and Jim beheads it. 

Then, Daryl Dixon who is Merle's brother approaches them from the forest scolding them for taking his food as he's a hunter. He tries to find Merle who he asks his whereabouts and Shane and Rick break the news to him lightly that they had no choice but to leave him behind as he was being very hostile and uncooperative which led him to be handcuffed in the first place. Daryl retaliates in anger and demands to find his brother so Rick reassures him they will return there. In the night, Rick reconciles his relationship with Lori and Lori tells him that she really thought he was dead. In the next day, Carol washes up everyone's clothes and Shane takes Carl on a fishing lesson. Rick tries to get Lori's permission to leave and she eventually gives in after learning that Rick left behind a bag of guns. Lori tries to find Carl and tells Shane to never speak to her or her son again and scolding him for telling him that Rick was dead. Meanwhile, Carol and the other girls have a nice chat until her husband Ed arrives demanding that she washes the clothes rather than having fun. Andrea defends Carol that she doesn't need to do what he tells her to do but Ed makes misogynistic remarks and ends up punching Carol in the face making the other girls retaliate against him. Shane who is in a furious mood already from getting rejected by Lori, beats the shit out of Ed and tells him to never lay his hands on a woman ever again otherwise he'll kill him. The girls plead him to stop as Ed's face bleeds to death. At the end, Rick, Daryl and the others return to the store in Atlanta to find Merle in the roof but upon entering the roof, Daryl is horrified to find Merle not being there but instead a bloody saw, bloody handcuff and severed hand suggesting that Merle cut his own hand off to escape.
