April Update 2019 - Revving the Engine

Just want to cover a few things this month.

First, the artists have been fending off real life stuff so artwork has been far and in between.  I've been suffering through artist block myself and haven't been able to produce anything of quality in a couple of weeks. I've used my spare time to begin working on the story of the game, the initial quests and story arcs and anticipated scenes. Sadly, the details for it won't be revealed until the game can be played.

Discord is going to be reworked.....again. Tier perks as well. Legacy members in discord will be tweaked but will essentially keep their perks and benefits. The other tiers are going to be reshaped as we attempt to clean up the discord and make pledging worthwhile. We'll also be opening it up to the public in hopes that we can attract more attention to the game and hopefully pull in some much needed talent.

The best news though, is an update on the engine!

Val is currently working on the movement pathing, camera and screen size changes. He's also working on the dialog system so it's clean and functional. Some of the old systems can be ported in and adapted to the new system which makes his workload easier. Once these are done, we're going to be near to where we were before switching projects. The battle system is nearly done

Where it stands, the engine is nowhere near complete but it's getting close to being functional and playable. Once that's done we'll be creating a small demo to show off the initial sprites and combat system, as well as an in-game introduction to the world. The next step after that will be creating the world and setting up the map pack.
