Although what I said about manual cars depends on the country—for example, in my case, in Colombia you are required to drive a manual car without cameras or any additional help in order to get your license. But the strange thing is, they don’t actually test you on it, which is a bit counterproductive. I’m not sure how it works in your country, but in some places you can get a license just for automatics and use cameras at your convenience. Don’t worry—I’m sure it’s only the nerves talking, and you’ll do great.

Then you really get the hang of it. It’s not that scary, though driving manual cars is definitely harder—you really have to feel in control. Once you do, it’s actually pretty nice. I got my license when I was 16, and now, three years later, I drive around like it’s nothing. Of course, this usually depends on the person. I drive a manual with no cameras, which I think is the best way if you want to really drive. But nowadays there are easier cars to handle, so there’s nothing to worry about. I’m sure you’ll get your license and drive as if you’ve always been doing it.
