Oh the way this episode absolutely broke me. I was crying to the point where I had to pause because I couldn’t read the subtitles. Only to bawl like a baby again watching it now. To be a mom and feel the pain she must have felt and guilt, especially thinking back on how she didn’t just give him a hug when he asked. That would haunt me forever. This show is such a masterpiece and no matter how heartbreakingly beautiful it is. It will forever now be a favorite of mine.

2025-08-28 02:18:21 +0000 UTCSorry for another comment, but I just wanted to add a fun fact about this show: it is indeed a fictional story, but Ae-Sun and Gwan-Sik are actually based on a real couple of Jeju Island, Hong Kyung-ja and her husband. the real man behind the character of Gwan-Sik even won a local award for "best husband", because of his unwavering support and resilience in support of his wife.🥰

Cinematic art is meant to stir emotions and make us reflect on life and ourselves. If we can laugh and cry real tears with the characters on screen, that's when a movie or show is truly great. As of now, my top 3 healing shows are probably this one, the 2019 anime Fruits Basket, and the Wachowski show on Netflix "Sense8". I highly recommend you check the latter out, maybe a few Trailers, and watch it on your own, if you think there won't be an interest on reacting to it (though I do think it SHOULD be brought to more people, just because of it's message, regardless of how it does 😅). It's truthfully, so healing for the heart and soul. Just watch the Trailer and a quick Google search on it, and see how you feel about it. Maybe for a watch with your girlfriend, even! 😉💚
