Guardian: The Lonely and Great God aka 'Goblin' Episode 2 - REACTION & COMMENTARY

I've been away for the past week (seeing Kiss of Life and aespa in concert), now catching up! - Eun-tak is basically an overexcited kid 😁 - Gong Yoo is a BEAUTIFUL man indeed. - Imagine trying to explain why you're late. β€žSorry, I accidentally teleported to Canadaβ€œ 🀨 - You're thinking of Cinderella with the evil stepmother, not Snow White. - Wait, that's Yoo In-na! She was in Snowdrop, playing that one doctor. - She has a *vibe* about her. Even just sitting there. Can't blame Eun-tak for getting flustered 😡 - Aw, look at him trying to impress her πŸ₯° - I like the idea that even a supernatural hat that makes you invisible to mortals still has to be taken to the dry cleaner. - I'm anticipating an all out fight between the Goblin and the Reaper. Shit's getting serious already. - I feel like the Goblin and the Reaper have different ideas about this sword πŸ’€ - Why did they blur all the book covers? What the fuck is that about? - Goddamnit why do they always end episodes at moments like this?

This Drama was part of the Golden era of K-Dramas for me wherein i really settled in my room during my Off days to binge watch the heck out of these πŸ˜‚2016 was a good year~~~

The fortune-teller is part of a triplet? Cool. I think I missed that. But it got me thinking about other instances of 3 sisters who are in some way gifted/magical/ divine: - in Hotel Del Luna there's Mago and her sisters. - in Hercules there's the Moirai (Greek) / Parcae (Roman) - wasn't there a fairytale with 3 faerie sisters?

Some dramas are good but I am glad that people also took into consideration that you want a lighthearted kdrama after all the dramas. We knew you would also lile this story with a mix of funny and drama bits. ✨️

Gong Yoo (Goblin) and Dong Wook (Grim Reaper) are really close even after so many years because this show it's pretty old, like if there it's an interview with these two, it would be fun to watch.

The grim reaper character is way funnier than I anticipated. At the end he's not wearing the hat so I assume that means he's "off duty" I'm interested to find out what's going on with Yoo In-na's character. Also I'm curious why you have to move once the grim reaper see's you. He saw her outside so how does he automatically know her home address? I wonder if we'll ever get the goblin's backstory in Canada. I'm not sure why the goblin would have another grave.

I'm really happy that this show made it πŸ’œ I always wanted to see it and now have the chance to see it with you πŸ€—

-I really like your insight on Goblin's line "If you saw me for who I am, you would resent me", it's another (and interesting) way to see the situation. But I think the original intention was more of the literal sense - if Eun-tak can see Goblin's sword, she would hate him as she has to pull out the sword and essentially forced to kill Goblin since he wants to die. -Maybe you found the older lady ghost (the one sitting on the most left side) familiar because she's the same actress who's acting as the fortune teller that the chicken shop lady visited? At the fortune teller's place, there was a close-up shot of a family photo of her with her other two sisters and she mentions that she's a triplet. Also love that iconic shot of Goblin and Grim Reaper walking together! So many variety shows have parodied this exact scene hahah. It also apparently made turtlenecks + long coats super trendy for a while because Gong Yoo and Lee Dong-wook looked so great in those xD

In-Na is so pretty. The Goblin is trying to pull out the sword - because that's the only way to die. However, only the Goblin's bride can pull that sword out

- The pretty chicken restaurant owner is Yoo In-na. She played a surgeon in Snowdrop. She's also very good friends with IU. I'm currently rewatching an old, but great, variety series called "Heroes" where they were both part of the cast (as well as 10 other idols from that time, like Ka-hi for example). - Yep, the girl's full name is Ji Eun-tak, so her family name is Ji, and her own name is Eun-tak. - Crossing their swords? πŸ˜‚ Stop putting images in my head. - The blurring of the books is so weird. I can't remember that during my first watch πŸ€” - I like your analysis that the sword could be a metaphor for seeing him as he really is. - Yeah, it's Sung-jae from BTOB (pronounced as Seong-jae) and I really have to give props to his acting in this series πŸ‘
