Newtopia Episode 1 - REACTION

- So it starts like a fever dream, this should be interesting. - Everyone's a complete mess, got it - I know what climbing 20 floors is like, I don't even want to imagine 77. - Yeah that doesn't seem like the most healthy or stable relationship. Jae-yoon is overly obsessed and the people around Young-joo just flat out suck. - Even without the peer pressure, I can understand Young-joo. Jae-yoon isn't what I would call a particularly good boyfriend. And being apart for 18 months only makes it worse. - I do not like this Jin-wook guy and how he's taking advantage of Young-joo's situation. - THIS is exactly why I always yell „EYES ON THE ROAD“ whenever a character is driving a car, looking at their passenger for too long. Fuck's sake. Hm. To be honest, this show isn't doing it for me yet. I hope it improves over the next episodes.

I don't watch many K-drama's, but decided to give this a go together with your reactions. To be honest, I was about to already throw in the towel at the halfway point, but I'm glad we (finally) got some action at the end.

- so several things to note for this series -1 Jisoo is perfect and her acting is impeccable her acting range is starting to expand, I like it when she plays the drunk or annoyed girl. I really think that Jisoo has a great future as an actress. the scene of the accident and the eye that lands on her neck is incredible the eye is really well done -2 even if there are not really many zombies in the first episode the series will show special effects, makeup and a really cool staging in this series. - 3 but I find the main male actors unbearable and very bad. Yeong-ju's boyfriend played by the actor Park jeong-min is really average all the passages where he is fixated on his cell phone to try to call Yeong-ju are a bit exaggerated. he looks like a guy who harasses his girlfriend on the phone every hour to know where she is and who he is possessive with that's for sure. it makes the character unpleasant and I don't think that's the goal of the series we are supposed to want them to stay together. but in fact I was happy that they broke up. so maybe by the end of the season he will be ultra heroic and learn from his mistakes and that will surely make him more likable but for the moment I don't like him. and his best friend the other soldier Ra in-ho is completely unbearable the actor overacts and that makes some scenes quite weird. - 4 so I know that the series is supposed to be comic, it's not as serious and dramatic as All of us are dead or Train to Busan. so I expected jokes or absurd scenes but there it's too overacted. - for now I have watched the first 4 episodes and it remains very solid in terms of staging, gore and there are several really cool moments, some actors like Jisoo carry the series. but there is also a problem with the writing and male actors who overplay way too much.

This first episode wasted way too much time on the workings of those soldiers. They could have shortened that up. But, I'm on episode 4, and it picks up. Expectations will not be realized. ;) The social norms play here - he feels like he can't get married until he has a job, so... I'm looking forward to watching you react to this one - the first since Snowdrop. This one, so far, doesn't seem like it'll break our hearts. ;)
