RUNNING MAN Season 1 Episode 1 - REACTION
Added 2024-11-21 12:57:42 +0000 UTC
Since the first season of RM has 50 episodes, maybe I'll do a post/poll suggesting the show's top 10-15 episodes?
That way, we'll maximize engagement and ensure that every episode is one that people want to watch.
I'm only saying that because while looking up the show on IMDB I saw that more than a few episodes have very average ratings, and I doubt that anyone who voted for RM S1 would watch all 50 reactions...
Let me know in the comments and I'll do a separate post or a poll of the highest-rated episodes of the 1st season :)
For at least the 1st season I also prefer all the episodes. I remember falling in love with this show because of the cast and not the guests and I used to watch on regular basis. Earlier episodes were absolute gem! I haven't watched any new episodes recently but I love watching others discover this show. There's a reason why it's one of longest running shows out there.

Thank you so much for subscribing!!
I'm only reacting to the 1st season and I feel like I may follow the advice of those who suggested I react to episodes that interest me the most (group/artist/specific games like Bells Hide and Seek), and out of the 50 episodes I might focus on 12-15 episodes :)

New subscriber here, loving your reaction vids! I'm not sure how things work around here but for Running Man, I think it would be better if you only watch episodes of guests that you are interested in as well as the overseas races they have, otherwise it's going to be a drag watching all 700+ episodes (unless you are interested in seeing how the cast members evolve their characters in the show). I would also recommend checking out all the episodes with Bells Hide-and-Seek, it's kind of like their signature mission until it was abandoned in later years due to the members' physical condition.
Also, you seem to like Hyori alot so I just want to recommend some variety shows you might be interested to watch on your own free time:
1) Family Outing - This was the long-running variety show on Sundays before Running Man came in. Tons of Hyori - Jaesuk antics, and the fixed cast also includes Kim Jong Kook and Daesung (from Bigbang)
2) How Do You Play (EP. 41 - 42, 44 - 68): Jaesuk works with Hyori to create 2 music groups, SSAK3 and Refund Sisters. Absolute blast to watch these two reunite after 10 years or so. (Edit: oops, just saw that you actually reacted to Refund Sisters before so 😅)

After watching your reaction, it appears that this ep already had the "be in the photo" challenge 😄 its so funny. And we got 1 (unbothered) Gary photo already 😆
Also, I noticed that this ep already had the Kwangsoo "sad song" playing. It became his iconic song, but it's quite amazing that it's been used since day 1.

I agree with all your suggestions here 😄
And if we include other seasons, than all the "superpower" eps are recommended.

yes I think we need to do a new poll for Running Man I should have suggested it but I didn't because I didn't think I would see the show win despite its popularity. for the obvious reason that covering more than 14 seasons would be almost impossible. here's how I see it
1 we can actually suggest 20 episodes from season 1 that we prefer and after the poll you select the 20 most popular we can do the poll during the week.
2 it seems reductive to me to concentrate on only season 1 when everyone knows that we won't watch all the seasons so I suggest instead to do a poll on maybe 20 or 25 most popular episodes all seasons combined. This will allow you to have a global vision of the evolution of the show and to have the possibility of having the whole range of guests who have appeared on the show. There are different videos on YouTube which classify the most popular episodes among the community who watched the show.

Also, basically any episodes with the "Bells hide and seek" game are really good

28 and 40 are really good too

I think the first 5 episodes are really strong and set up the vibe of the show, but after that you can probably just jump to ones with interesting guests. Like, I love episode 27 because it has TVXQ members

To be honest I joined your Patreon to watch your first reactions to ikon because I really like your MV reactions on YouTube:) and I relatively fast been through and hoped you would do or have something else with ikon but I’ve seen in the poll ikon tv is not as popular which makes me sad but tastes differ so it’s ok 😅 but now I’m very happy to see you reacting to running man which is my second favourite option! I at first watched the episodes with guests I knew or I’ve seen clips and got interested but now I’m watching running man with a different creator on Patreon chronologically and I have to say it’s worth to see every episode:)

Basically to finish my personal opinion is that it doesn't bother me to watch 50 episodes of Running Man if the season is 50 episodes. But except for exceptions the episodes are independent of each other except sometimes where the same show with the same guests will be broadcast over 2 or 3 weeks. Which means that we can simply watch the most popular episodes with the most popular guests without spoiling anything in the experience. I only watch the episodes that have interesting concepts or guests that I like. But for scripted shows like Busted or for dramas it is better to watch them all in a row even if it takes months.

I'm not saying that you should do it every week
How about whenever you want to react to it that way you are okay and we are happy
Do you think I watch all 700 eps of running man every day no I mean I divided the eps I watch for a day I usually watch 3 eps a day on a summer vacation ofc

If the 1st season had 15-20 episodes, absolutely I would do all of the episodes but when it's 50, that's a huge commitment and may lead to some very low engagement videos (speaking from experience lol)
I'd rather people asking for more than asking for no more :)

I prefer all the episodes but I don't know about everyone

You should go with ones that have guests you’re familiar with to start. There are a lot of guests who may only be popular in Korea, etc. Those episodes will likely be lost on a lot of people. A best of as it were.

I agree that watching 50 eps is a bit much.
Instead of looking at the view ratings, I would recommend picking eps that have guests who you find interesting. Or eps recommended by viewers, like you suggested.
I know eps 2 and 5 had the photo zone game that I remember being very funny. But both eps are part of 2-part series 😬

We can either do a post with you guys suggesting the best episodes of Season 1, or I can go on IMDB (or a different platform suggested by you) and collect the top 10-15 highest-rated episodes.
I feel like that's a decent way to approach shows like Running Man or Knowing Bros, shows of that kind in general :)
