Alice In Borderland Season 2 Episode 8 (FINALE) - REACTION & Commentary

This was an absolute mind f**k of a rollercoaster!

A quick reminder that next week I'll be taking some time off from Dramas, I'll be back the week after next with 2 new dramas (one decided by you guys, and one by me).

Alice In Borderland Season 2 Episode 8 (FINALE) - REACTION & Commentary

Comments

The way my sister and me yelled at each other when we realized that the joker was a card too and they hadn't played that game yet was unreal. I think season three will have the joker as some endboss? Maybe 2 because some (all of the ones I have) cardgames have 2 joker cards. I really loved your reaction to this. Also everytime Nigari came on screen and you roasted tf out of him I told my sister about it and we both were like "Yup. Same. Approved. Get it king. If you going on a rampage we coming with you." It honestly was my fav part of these whole two seasons cuz fuck that bastard :D

I honestly did subscribe to you on patreon because of primarily this show. It was a delight to watch it again with you and hear your opinions on the different topics discussed. As you can probably see from my name I'm an insomnia, and seeing you disect their music videos was what made me interested to see what you would think about this masterpiece. I was not disappointed and think I might stay for a little longer to see what else your page has to offer (besides that it also helped that you seem to really make the most of this page without pulling as much money as possible from your subscribers). Thanks for the fun and interesting reactions on patreon and youtube, can't wait to see what's to come!

I honestly cannot wait for season 3 to see what the Joker is going to be? What I think it will be is possibly the game being brought to them in the real world. This series has been one of the best I have watched. This episode and the last episode gave so much anxiety and confusion at times was crazy. Side note: what you said about you wishing Ann survived. She did, she was the one on the operating table, they said her name but you missed it because you were saying something lol.

So unfortunately my curiosity got the better of me and I read about the mechanics of the Borderland in the manga. Why do I do this. - The Queen of Hearts definitely has some shady shit planned for this game of croquet. - Is that it? Just dragging out the duration of this game so long until Usagi succumbs to her wounds? If she's going for maximum frustration, it certainly is working. - What in the Matrix? - Ok now she's really bullshitting us. - I would love for him to just blast her face off but he does still need to finish one more round of croquet, so he can't really do that.. - This was not in the snippets I read about the manga, what the hell is happening - You're right, and even Arisu's hairstyle is a bit similar to L. Though personality wise, Chishiya is probably closer to L. - It's giving Moon Knight. With the psychiatric institution, not quite knowing what's actually real. The villain pretending to be the protagonist's doctor. - You know, in some ways Arisu reminds me of Noah from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. He also finds himself in a completely fucked up world, divided into two nations at perpetual war. People aren't born, but rather they're grown in pods and emerge in bodies that are equivalent to a 10 year old child. Then they only have a lifespan of 10 years in which they are forced to go to war. The only way to actually survive those 10 years is by killing people from the other nation and literally taking their life force for yourself and your own nation. So you either die in battle or you survive it all by killing everyone else and die anyways because your 10 years are up. But Noah starts to suspect that this is not how things are meant to be and this entire story is about finding out why the world is the way it is. And things get VERY trippy towards the end. Kinda similar to Arisu in the Borderland. Difference being that Noah was born into his world. He never knew anything else before he made an encounter early in the story that made him question everything. - Huh, I actually would have thought that Niragi would choose to stay. - A NUKE?? - A meteorite. Is this some extraterrestrial supernatural shit? - Hey, our pretty boy Chishiya is still with us! - Wow okay, so without spoiling anything, this ending is very Xenoblade 3. Well, it actually isn't but it kinda is? I can't really say much here, out of respect to the people who haven't played Xenoblade yet (play Xeno, it's peak fiction!) Amazing show. I love these kinds of stories where something about the world or how we are lead to perceive it isn't quite right. A huge mystery that grows ever larger until we hit a mindfuck of a resolution. I talked quite a bit about Xenoblade 3 in this comment but there are many other stories like it. 1899 by the creators of Dark was like that too but those fuckers at Netflix canceled that after only a single season so we'll never get any answers.. Anyway, Arisu and Usagi were great protagonists. Arisu had that kind of curiosity and determination that made him a perfect lead for this show. Usagi being a great partner in that she keeps him motivated but also grounded to reality. Especially in this episode. And of course our pretty blonde mystery man Chishiya. One who always seems to be two steps ahead. A bit smug but you can't help but love him nonetheless. Aguni who started out seeming like a pretty despicable asshole but ended up as one of the most honorable and reliable heroes in the Boderland. I don't want to make this comment too long so I'll just keep it to those four, who are definitely my favourite characters of this show. About what I had read and spoiled for myself before watching this episode: From what I could gather, the Borderland is a sort of purgatory. A place literally on the border between life and death where the consciousness of people who suffer a near-death experience are sent to. The games are a sort of supernatural test of their spirit, their will to survive. Only those with the skill and determination to make it to the very end can go back to the world of the living. A bit Jigsaw, innit. Death in the Borderland also means death in the real world, and any injuries suffered in these games are reflected on their real world bodies too. Of course there are the ones that reject the real world and decide to stay in the Borderland as permanent residents. Those are the citizens. The survivors from the previous cycle who stayed. They also design ALL the games. Honestly, what kinda fucked up person do you have to be to think β€œyeah I'll stay here and help design more games that inflict immense pain and suffering on thousands of innocent people” This is also where the original manga ends. There is a sequel manga called Alice in Borderland Retry. I assume season 3 will be based on that.

This is one of the craziest finales of a season to a show I’ve ever seen what!!!??? Season 3 is deffo confirmed does anyone know when it comes out because I need it immediately πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ So Banda and the other guy form the jack of hearts chose to stay in the borderland??? That’s insane but very on brand for them I guess!! I wonder if the β€˜joker’ will be the final boss or whether the entire β€˜joke’ of the borderlands is forgetting how they are all linked now. Wow. WOW!

what a show! for a fun fact, the actors of arisu and usagi, kento and tao have been co-stars in 4 different shows including aib since they were 18 years old. they were side characters in a show, then played main leads + love interests in 2 movies in 2015. season 2 marks their 10th year working together. this duo is very much loved in japan, and i can't wait to see them again in season 3.
