Aventio Hadestown fusion AU

greek/roman gods AU inspired by Hadestown that was one of my old pitches for a zine and I did a couple of drawings for it
God of the Underworld Aventurine since...y'know the minerals and gold and precious stones are mined from the earth -> stonehearts and wealth -> Aventurine, and god of truth Veritas Ratio (roman)
Marriage arranged by the olympus (the IPC and Intelligentsia Guild or their equivalents idk. it's mostly just vibes ) to keep Aventurine supervised/as business partnership
At first they hate each other but eventually grow close, Aventurine doing his best to make sure Ratio is comfortable in his kingdom, he finds him all the mortal books and builds the most beautiful gardens, fully convinced that Ratio will leave one day, and Ratio is like "I will not remarry" and he lowkey hates the top 1% of the pantheon anyway
also Ratio being able to tell whether he's being told the truth as his god power by looking the person in the eye and Aventurine finding loopholes and telling him half-truths or deflections, so they have a quippy back-and-forth. And later on Ratio turning away every time Aventurine flirts with him or says something romantic because he doesnt want to know its a lie.
also Acheron fits here SO WELL bc acheron is literally one of the rivers in the Underworld DO YOU SEE MY VISION [I get carried off the stage]

THATS EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENS that part of the tale was too delicious to not add Ratio will have to leave for one reason or another (he still has pupils left on the outside so maybe he will need to be absent for that) and Aventurine will be normal about it (be utterly miserable and make it everyone's problem, thinking that was the end of them, only for Ratio to return again and again) ACHERON!!!! WOMEN!!!!!!!!!

At first I thought Ratio is going to be Persephone but whoa being a different god is so very cool too. (Though I still couldn't help imagining Aventurine growing anxious and cold each time it would be for Ratio to leave the underworld. Always thinking it's the last time and the man already grew tired of him and the land of the dead and he will be lonely once more...). AND OH MY GOD ACHERON I SQUEELED AND JUMPED WHEN I SAW HER I LOVE WOMEN SO MUCH
