Flower of Evil Episode 16 (Finale) REACTION & COMMENTARY

Next week there won't be a reaction to any dramas seeing as we just finished Flower of Evil and I also finished season 1 of Alice in Borderland.

I will start reacting to Season 2 of Alice the Tuesday after next, and with that, I will also react to a new KDrama that will replace Flower of Evil (I'm keeping it a surprise, please don't post suggestions or requests under this post).

I always take a break the following week after finishing any show and this time I need it more than ever as I'm experiencing a bit of burnout (Because of the YT side of things).

See ya soon for the S2 of Alice and a new KDrama.

Flower of Evil Episode 16 (Finale) REACTION & COMMENTARY

My first time watching an KDrama with someone else online, I really liked the experience! I loved the KDrama and to “chitchat” with you about it. (I was talking to myself? Probably 😂) The whole KDrama was a masterpiece, I love when they do something different with the plot and not the some things we see in a lot of KDrama. I have a thing that I only watch Kdramas with happy endings because life is already hard 🤷‍♀️ so I was really scared about this one lol Thanks for the content, looking forward the next 😊

I like this ending tbh. They wrapped it up very nicely. Yes, the amnesia trope might be a little cliche but I think that's not unnecessary tho. Like what Jiwon said, Hyeonsu finally was able to live freely on his own (by his choice and not forced due to the circumstances) and we see in the end, he still chose Jiwon so I think it's more precious like this. His sister also mentioned something when she was talking with Moojin - "Sometimes I think, it's not that he's changed. Maybe that's his true self" and that makes sense. So here when he had amnesia, they showed that it's not really just out of habit for Hyeonsu everything that he did. It's really just him, his true self. He just was not able to realize it before because of all the traumas he experienced it made him doubt himself and believed that he's not capable of feeling any emotions. So everything he showed to Jiwon was real, it's him. And they also showed that Hyeonsu was remembering some things bit by bit. So I think it was implied that he would still recover all his memories after some time so everything they go through was not a waste. He needed this time (forgetting memories of those years as Heeseong) to be able to re-confirm with himself what he really wants and what his true self. I hope I was able to share my thoughts properly. Might sound like a ramble. Sorry 😅 Thanks so much for reacting to FOE!!! This is still my favorite Kdrama everrrr. Such an amazing show. Everything was 1000000/10 (A very little complaint, that was an easy end for Heeseong, I wish they maxe him rot in jail first. He's evil.)

If you need a break, take that break. I think I speak for most of us here on Patreon when I say that we are very understanding of your personal needs. (Some of the Youtube folks might see it differently but eh, they get free content so what right do they have to complain?) - “Weddings are just a formality” My brother actually took that to the next level. He got married in secret and only told us after the fact. - My issue is with that incompetent idiot of a cop who was careless enough to let Hee-seong steal his gun. - I'm gonna be upfront about this: I don't like the amnesia ending at all. Feels like a cheap cop out and completely destroys all the character development Hyeon-su went through. Most of the show is a 9 or 10 out of 10. This ending is a 4 at best. Not enough to retroactively ruin the entire show but it does leave me with a bad aftertaste. - “Is it true that you used a stolen identity and deceived your wife for 15 years?” Bitch, this guy has amnesia, he doesn't even fucking remember the last 15 years. How is he supposed to answer that question truthfully? - Well, at least they're doing something with the emotional struggle that an amnesia case like this would bring. - HAE-SU IS FREE FUCK YEAH - Good discussion on Baek Man-u and how he has become a victim of his own toxic masculinity. Nothing to add there. - Ironically, it's Gong Mi-ja, his wife, whom we absolutely despised at the beginning of the show for being so openly hysterical and confrontational, who was able to keep her sanity and humanity. Probably precisely because she didn't hide her emotions like Baek Man-u did. - The tragedy of Kim Moo-jin. Doomed to remain maidenless. - Man, I don't think I've ever seen you THIS invested in a relationship in a Kdrama - Reunion with Eun-ha at last! I got nothing to say here, this is just really adorable and heartwarming. And a huge shout out to probably the best child actress I have ever seen! The sheer level and range of emotion and acting she was able to portray is astonishing. Especially since this kid was 5 years old while filming. Despite my problems with the ending (arbitrary amnesia storyline out of nowhere, adding needless padding to the ending that has almost nothing to do with the rest of the show), Flower of Evil is still my second favourite Kdrama right behind Vincenzo. Amazing characters, endless plot twists (remember how we were initially lead to believe that Hyeon-su is a serial killer) and some truly great villains that you love to hate. And the psychological aspect of it. The super deep exploration of this relationship. I really love this show and I'm glad I got to rewatch it with you.
