I-LAND Season 1 Episode 1 - REACITON

Comments

Saw that you're watching I-land so I had to check it out. I Love Enhypen and I watched this show a couple times already, but I'm excited to watch it here again, hope this will make you feel closer to the members and you will check out more Enhypen related content.^^

- Cool. Will be my first time watching this show too ๐Ÿ‘ - Like you said, how many popular novels named "Demian" are there? So yeah, it should be the same novel as Dreamcatcher's Demian. I think there's also a BTS song about the same novel. - Damn, what is this building? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ Some architect really went all-out on this one. - So, will that number go down when ppl get eliminated? ๐Ÿค” - Oh, nvm. - I agree that being a former figure skater probably has some advantages for becoming a dancer/idol, but elegance and light-on-your-feet are usually not the qualities of boygroups ๐Ÿ˜ฌ (and I don't mean the speed of dancemoves, but the dance style of bgs is usually powerful, etc) - Rain can understand/see Jay's "stubbornness". Yeah, it takes one to know one ๐Ÿ˜† - I hope this sucking-up-to-Bang-Si-Hyuk won't become a permanent thing on this show ๐Ÿ˜ฌ - I'm surprised that nobody was like: "how can I vote when I haven't seen all performances? Therefore I'll just vote for everybody/nobody". Like Chaeyeon or Miru in QP. Or someone who will suggest something like "let's all vote for everyone". - "I need to check that song out". It's "Shoot out" by Monsta X. - Yeah, VIXX is the group with Ravi, who you've seen on Good Girl. - What would happen if they don't vote for the 4 members to drop out within the 2 hours? ๐Ÿค” - Ah, nvm. They had to vote electronically. At least it's anonymous. - Yes, ppl from the Ground can still make it to the Island. They did mention that and it also wouldn't make sense to have an entire building for dropouts otherwise ๐Ÿ˜… - Btw, this whole concept looks VERY much like the movie "The Island". - In football there's "tiki-taka", while here we have "Niki-Taki" ๐Ÿ˜…

please comment like this on every episode. I like reading them

Gotcha. The group from I-Land 2 is called izna.

Marcel Wannieck

Oh god I think I might be dyslexic cause that's not how I read the question, and it's not the first or 2nd time this happens ๐Ÿ˜… Yeah, let me know group's name so I'll know to avoid them for the time being! Oh, I didn't think about Sixteen, now it's making more sense!

Daniel Goland

- My question was: do you WANT to know the name of the group from season 2? I don't know if that would help you avoid spoilers about the lineup. So if you see that name you could just immediately nope out of whatever you were looking at. Or maybe the name itself would be a spoiler to you? - This is indeed my first time watching this show. I'm a fan of Enhypen's music but I know next to nothing about these guys so this is gonna be great to get into. Though I've also heard that they've changed quite a lot since then. Especially someone like Niki who was only 14 years old during this show. - There is exactly one novel called Demian and it was written by German author Hermann Hesse in 1917. - I was just gonna say, those outfits have a strong Hunger Games vibe to them - Zico has his own label called KOZ and Boynextdoor is the first group to debut there. So yes, they're created and produced by Zico. - I like Bang PD's point of focusing on the potential and not just the current abilities. - This is literally just the house from Ex Machina. - Oh shit that's Hanbin from TEMPEST! - Niki was 16 in Korean age but his birthday is in December. By international standards, he's 14 at this point. - Jay be like โ€œI'll definitely NOT betray you laterโ€ ๐Ÿ™‚ - I just looked up Youngbin's name because he sounded familiar to me. He would later debut in a group called Blank2y. But he was eventually kicked out due to a confirmed case of dating violence. So yeah, fuck that guy. - As far as I'm aware, none of the members of Boynextdoor have been on I-Land. But yes, &TEAM has a couple of members from this show. They even got their own survival show called &AUDITION. That one is available on the Hybe Youtube channel for free if you're interested. Enhypen and &Team are also connected in their lore. Enhypen are the vampires, &Team are the werewolves. - You know what's really crazy about Niki? Of course he's matured quite a lot since this show and he's one suave motherfucker today. BUT HE'S STILL ONLY 18 YEARS OLD. WHAT. - Seon's singing is pretty decent but his dancing is a bit stiff. Solid start but we can do better. - Yes, it was Queendom Puzzle with the remotes for the voting. - The 7th Sense is a bold choice of a song. NCT's debut. And they really did it justice. Well done. - Oh fuck Niki is Jopping ๐Ÿ˜‚ - Jopped his goddamn soul out he did - So I'm guessing you need at least 12 votes to get in? Get over half of the people in the room to vote for you? - Boss is one of my favourite NCT songs so I have high standards for this. Glad to say that Heeseung delivered. - K goes straight for a Taemin song, I like the audacity. Lots of SM songs today. - Bang PD said he seemed nervous here. I don't really see that. If this is him being nervous, then how ridiculously good is he otherwise?? - Do the trainees know that Zico is watching them? - Definitely got that intense vibe of Monsta X down. - No, VIXX are pretty much disbanded. At least their contracts with Jellyfish Entertainment have run out and all the members have left the company. Their last release was back in November. Vixx is also the group that Ravi was originally from. You saw him on Good Girl. He fucked up big time by evading military service and got kicked out of the group and sentenced to 2 years of probation and 120 hours of community service. Plus, he will enlist twice now. - Oh man, Taki tries so hard to look menacing, bless his soul ๐Ÿ˜… - Very smooth performance from Jungwon. - Damn, that Crown performance was REALLY good. - There was definitely an advantage to going early with your performance. - So is this like Sixteen then? Like the Major and Minor groups, here we'd have IN and OUT of I-Land? - Yeah, it's pretty much exactly like that. I-Land and Ground. - So am I understanding this correctly that there is no audience voting here? I actually kinda like that. - I'm just glad we're watching something that's completely different from the Produce format. After over half a year of nothing but Produce, I was getting pretty tired of it. And I like the concept of this show so far :)

_ very happy for all the people who wanted to see this show for a long time. - also happy to have seasons 1 and 2 in a row - here are the most notable differences between the I-land shows and the produce shows -1 the I-land shows are smaller and more concentrated than the produce shows there are much fewer participants about twenty in I-land against a hundred in the produce shows -2 the house in the woods a very high tech house with all the necessary comfort for the participants. the produce shows had a village with dormitories and several buildings for all the activities (canteen, gymnasium, office, training room, rest room, common room etc.;) -3 the I-land shows focus on the trainees of a single agency for season 1 they are trainees from Hybe for season 2 it is another agency it is a bit of a fancier version of sixteen. while the produce show includes trainees from more than 50 different agencies. -4 the finalists will be part of a permanent group and not temporary as in the produce show. which will ultimately be less frustrating for the fans. -5 the votes and selection method are also different. in the produce show we were told that from the beginning the "fans" vote for the trainees they prefer and are therefore very involved in the evolution of the show and that they choose the winners. I-land is closer to Sixteen the producers and Hybe have a huge weight on the decisions of the final groups. the fans are not at all involved at the beginning of the show the mentors and the staff of I-land make a preselection. the fans will only be involved for the end of the show. - in many aspects it is very close to the show Sixteen but much fairer and more creative. no one lives in rotten apartments with bugs and other rats like in sixteen. (the poor girls who were in the minors really had a shameful dormitory) -as for the production and the direction well it's a MNET SHOW so we will have fake-outs, cuts during the performances of the trainees to see the reactions of the mentors and the other trainees etc.... basically no difference with the produce show. -yes it's probably me who talked about the group VIXX it's a Jellyfish group (same agency as Gugudan, SEJEONG) VIXX is really one of my favorite second generation groups and one of my top 10 boy groups of all time for me. ERROR one of they're title track is one of my favorite kpop songs right after I'll be you're man by BTOB. - yes many idols do martial arts and in particular Taekwondo or Hapkido (Somi, Bae Suzy, Bomi, Eunji, Chorong, Jungkook, Jin, Kim Johan, Felix, Baek-ho, The 8, Baekhyun, San) there are many others these are the ones that come to mind the most quickly. but martial arts and the idol profession are very complementary. - the concept of I'landers and Grounders is very close to the Major / Minor version of Sixteen. but as I said above it's fairer the grounders live in clean premises and don't lack anything.

Alright, thoughts: yes, many of the contestants that didn't make it into enhypen made it into other groups - one of them being &team. judging by your opinions, i think you'll like how this show progresses... without saying too much. I love this concept, and I actually really like the fact that the trainees are voting amongst themselves... at least in the way they showed in the preview at the end here. interested to see how you react to some Stuff in later episodes, but we'll take that when we get there!

Kico

To answer your question, yes. Some of the eliminated contestants went to hybe's other group (enhypen's brother group) &team.
