Note : this procedue is prefer by tablet than paper. If you use paper and pencil, I recommend to render only the dark part of the eyes (in process 2) and spare shading the white part of the eyes - maybe a little. Then use your eraser to erase some part of the eyes as reflex light (in process 4)
This is the procedue on how to render anime eyes in the most simple way possible.
1 ) Paint the eyelashes, irises, and white part of the eyes.
2 ) Shading the eye in the white and iris area.
3 ) Lighting lower area of the iris. Use color blending to make it looks smooth.
4 ) Pant light reflexing. Adding details if you wish to.
Note :
- Becareful not painting too much of reflexing on the eyes.
- Sometime there is no need to put on light reflexing on the eyes to make them look emotionless.
- Anime eyes can come up with many colors. The hard to paint one would be black or any deep colors.
- DO NOT shading white area with grey color. Use light purple (like in the picture) or any shade of grey purple instead.
- There are many possibilities to paint anime eyes. Don't limit yourself to one. But remember to keep it simple and not too much or less with detail.
- Recommending using Multiply and Screen layer to make darker and lighter area of the eyes with the same base color you use in process 1 can help you greatly.
Challenge :
- Paint or shading 30 Anime eyes.
- Have your own Anime eyes pattern and color palette.
