And later on, first show all members who predict Chanmi coming 1st, and then show her coming second (like she couldn't live up to her members expectations). - Mnet's love for drama will always outweigh any good performance 😔 - "You worked hard, right?". Currently, I'm still recovering from attending Dreamcatcher's concert in Brussels yesterday, aka the best concert I've ever been to 😍. I was like 2m away from them! And they're so beautiful, fit, powerful, with awesome vocals and expressions. Sorry, had to share this with someone. - I guess I'm also an emotionless bastard then 😬 - Yeah, there were definitely some audio issues. - Sejeong getting the criticism of not putting emotion in her singing is quite funny now knowing that she excels in exactly that 😅

I CANNOT. - I don't give a damn about shoe brands. I have weird misshapen feet, I just buy whatever happens to fit me. And Nike shoes are usually way to narrow. - Way to escalate things. From a 1,000 vote benefit to a 100,000 vote benefit. Jeez. - Let's see. Vocal songs: EXO – Call Me Baby, Zion.T – Yanghwa BRDG, GFriend – Me Gustas Tu, John Park & Huh Gak – My Best, Bigbang – Monster and Tashannie – Day by Day. Dance songs: Sunmi – Full Moon, Destiny's Child – Say My Name, Jessi J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj – Bang Bang and EXO – Growl. Rap songs: iKON – Rhythm Ta, Verbal Jint – You Look Happy and Paloalto – Turtle Ship. - I like that they're just choosing songs in descending rank order. Functually it's the same as the later seasons, just much simpler and less drama. Remember how the Planet series had lower ranking trainees pick first but they could be pushed out? None of that nonsense here. - Yeonjung's name is also spelt wrong in the subtitles here so that doesn't help either. - Dude, have you seen the edits where they remove the laugh track from The Big Bang Theory? Shit's so fucking awkward 😂 - So the entire team has never heard My Best? Damn. - I can throw together a quick MV playlist for IOI once we get near the end. And one of the 5 MVs, namely Crush, is actually a song that will be performed on the show itself. So you could skip that one and be left with 4 MVs which should be more reasonable for a Spotlight episode. BIGBANG – MONSTER - WOW that harmony at the beginning! - They sound really nice but their voices are mixed quite low. - Good start to this round. Tashannie – Day by Day - Obviously I'm a bit biased towards Yeonjung because of WJSN but let's see. - Oh boy. - Yejin still looks quite nervous in the actual performance. - This was nice! And as expected, Juna and Yeonjung absolutely killed it. EXO – CALL ME BABY - I loved that! The jazzy vibes, everything. And I say that as someone who isn't a big fan of the original song. - And not a single weak link in this trio either. - yeseul what the hell GFRIEND – Me Gustas Tu - omg Hyeri 🥺 - „Why does this sound like a wholesome anime intro?“ Well, GFriend generally has strong Jpop vibes, especially in their early discography. - Man, I love GFriend so much and I'm very happy to say that they did them justice - „Well, everything worked out for her in the end“ Ehh, considering the absolute limbo that Weki Meki have been in for over two years, I don't know that things really „worked out“ for Haerim/Elly. - Btw sorta related, didn't you say you wanted to do a spotlight episode on GFriend after seeing Viviz on Queendom 2? John Park & Huh Gak – My Best - Not easy to do a song you've never heard before. - I appreciate that the translators are putting subtitles here but they really should be translating ALL the songs, not just the ones they deem „important“ or whatever. - Holy shit Sira - This is easily the best one of the vocal performances so far. - I need to know what Kang Sira is doing today. Zion.T – Yanghwa Bridge - Didn't think Sejeong would be one struggle this much during the evaluation. - And as expected, they absolutely nail the performance. - Of course Sejeong would be first. Was there ever any doubt about that? - The audio editing is VERY weird in this episode, I fully agree. - Seriously, where is the overly dramatic music? I know I like to complain about it but it feels so weird when it's not there - Congrats to Sejeong! Though I would've loved to see Sira get it too. She did so amazingly well and would have 100% deserved to win this too.

We're halfway through now, I hope you can power on to the end. We want to see you witness the debut of IOI, we don't want to see you die-oh-die (I sincerely apologize) I've been so busy that I forgot to comment on last week's episode. So thanks for letting me know your rough predictions on who makes it, will be interesting to see your reaction to the final lineup. I'm happy that you will do a Spotlight eventually, I think it will be a fun little experience. And Very Very is a goddamn classic And yeah, the audio here was pretty awful... Mnet always seems to stumble when it comes to technical aspects in odd places. Anyways, looking forward to next week's episode!

2024-03-02 00:48:21 +0000 UTC- I had never thought about that? for me Chungha has always had good visibility in the show. but the way I see Produce 101 is very different from those who see the program now. at the time the show was very well attended, between the pre-auditions, the auditions, the daily summaries and the website where we could interact with each other, most of the girls had decent visibility and a fan base that grew from episode to episode in episode. people who watched the Show talked about it at school or at the office. We could follow the trainees that we supported the most quite easily which meant that for me Chungha or the girls that I supported were quite visible. the feeling is very different when we only look at the main events, several years later. but it is true that in the main event television shows each week the production of the show highlighted certain girls more than others and Chungha was not highlighted much in the first 3 or 4 episodes. I was really very invested in this show in season 2 and in Produce 48 because I really followed the progress of these artists day after day for several months. this is also why I.O.I, WANNA ONE and IZ*ONE had phenomenal success. because in my opinion many fans who followed these artists with the same investment as me understand what I mean. and that's why groups like FROMIS 9 or KEP1ER had a little less success because we weren't able to follow the same process with these groups. - the serious thing begins with this round, many performances have become legendary, in particular the cover of Bang bang. - yes i got the same idea I.O.I got 5 mv's 1 Crush Their Pre-Debut MVs 2 Dream girl (they're debut song) 3 Whata Man (they're sub-unit song) 4 Very Very (they're ultimate banger) 5 Downpour (they're disband song) doing a Spotlight episode on all of their MV's is a good idea. - a reaction on their 3 albums would also be a good idea they have 3 mini albums and a total of 15 songs the reaction would take 1 hour max. - Team Monster Lee Soomin is their ACE I love this girl she is full of talent. and very discreet it is true that Yoojung and Doyeon have had more visibility and are among the most popular girls but Soomin is also talented for me all the girls from Fantagio for me deserved to be in the top 20 at the time all like the Jellyfish trio. - Yoon Mirae is Tiger JK's wife and the two are the most influential couple in the rap/R&B scene -MNET did not raise Chanmi's rating because it was not extraordinary. If they didn't show any reaction from the coaches or the other girls it's simply because there wasn't a big reaction. Chanmi doesn't have a "redemption arc" because she didn't do anything exceptional, she sang well but not to the point of making an impression on people. -Team Haru Haru' (day by day) the Juna/Yeunjung duo was perfect frankly the performance was very good so yes MNET showed some more reactions they had put together the little drama just before so it's normal that they played on it. -Team Call me baby vocally the 3 girls matched perfectly, the song was perfect for them and the arrangements were very judicious. Eunwoo and Yeseul already had a very good reputation as singers. but Sohee was amazing too. - Team Me gustas tu Haein had a lot of bad comments not only in Produce 101 but in all the other survivals where she appeared because each time she gave the image of a selfish and authoritarian girl, she wanted all the important positions and did not take into account the opinion of the other girls and proclaimed himself leader almost all the time. it seems that she does not question herself much even after failures and makes the same mistakes each time. after the comments often went too far. Of course she was selfish but she didn't ruin anyone's career. otherwise the performance was also very good the rearrangement of the song version "christmas song" was very cool. yes the cutest members got the 3 best places because it went perfectly with the concept of the song. -Team my Best Frankly Sira carried her team there weren't many girls well ranked in this team or even popular but they did a very good job big up for Kang Sira for their incredible high rating. -Team Yanghwa Bridge what can I say, this performance is legendary, they all sang very well, that's for sure, but Sejeong has something extra, this emotion, this sincerity that emanates from her. she is just incredible.

In this pd101 s1, international fans CAN vote, and the vote weights the same as Korean Votes. While the planets series have 50% K votes and 50% Int votes things converted to POINTS. So 100k votes (not points) is HUGE, it could leap u from being eliminated to get saved (FYI Somi and sejeong only had like 600k votes around that time). Also, yeah IOI reaction would be great !
