(BLOCKED) FIRST TIME REACTING TO K/DA - POP/STARS & MORE

Comments

While Akali brought True Damage together. They are still considered a different group than KD/A. They talk about both True Damage and Pentakill (metal band from LoL characters) in the documentary I linked below. :)

Kreigmstr

There is a mini documentary that covers the creation of KD/A on IGNs channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=de-xgNEsE3I

Kreigmstr

The Performance at 2018 worlds was their debut performance. :) Also, it's Augmented Reality. So the characters are on stage with the singers and backup dancers. :)

Kreigmstr

what I like with KDA is that they have several interchangeable members, at least twenty if I remember them all correctly. The only member who is still present is Soyeon. the other name of KDA is TRUE DAMAGE always with Soyeon my favorite MV is GIANT another insane songs.

fabrice maire

yes Buffy the vampire slayer my favorite western drama when i was young i was in love with Sarh michelle gellar and Eliza Dusku . great to see Soyeon make a referance to it .

fabrice maire

DG you have to react on the Live performance on the League of legend championship we got all the crew live with they're IA version with hologram it's a dope performance i usualy didn't like collab between kpop idol and western artist because most of the time it's very sexualize . but this collab is just to great . all of them are great Miyeon and Soyeon of course but also Madisson beer and Jaira burns

I know K/DA has one with twice.... I am just a poor excuse for a fan, and never gave it an honest listen, would be nice to do so through your eyes, if you put it in as a double reaction with the song "The Baddest" that has a heavy Soyeon verse I would be pleasantly forced to give it that honest listen it deserves

Let's gooo! K/DA and specifically the song Popstars was my first proper introduction to Kpop. Ignoring Gangnam Style ofc. It must have been back around late 2018. I was following a bunch of cosplayers on Instagram at the time. And I started to notice that a lot of them were cosplaying as these KDA characters from League of Legends. I saw it so often that I naturally got curious and decided to google what this whole KDA thing was all about. And I found a music video. And my god, this thing blew me away. Most of all that rap section. From the comments I found out that the rapper was someone by the name of Soyeon and she was from this group (G)I-DLE. So I found their stuff. Listened to Latata, Hann and Senorita. From there I also got into a bit of BTS and Blackpink. Still very casually but that was the start for me. I didn't really keep up actively. Until Lady Gaga (yes) dropped her Chromatica album and I somehow stumbled across it. It included a Blackpink collab with Sour Candy. I got addicted to that song and it prompted me to check out more Blackpink but also BTS and (G)I-DLE. Which is when I found Oh My God. I probably don't need to explain how blown away I was by that song. But stuff got real serious in July 2020 when I heard BTS' Mic Drop for the first time. Never before has a Kpop song blown my mind this much. That was the moment when I decided to really dive deep into the genre and discover everything that Kpop had to offer. And it all started with KDA. Them announcing a comeback not too soon after was the cherry on top :D To hear (G)-DLE perform Popstars at their concert was such an amazing way to bring my Kpop journey full circle. One quick note on More: Seraphine is the LoL character that is voiced by Lexie Liu in the song. Seraphine is presented as the featured artist in the lore but she's not a real person. They have a whole comic strip about the fictional behind the scenes and how the KDA-Seraphine collab came to be. You can read it here: https://universe.leagueoflegends.com/en_gb/comic/kdacomic Btw, kinda unrelated and I hate asking because I don't want to put any pressure on you. But do you have plans to check out some of the recent releases from groups you've seen on stuff like Queendom Puzzle and the like? I feel like there are some things that might have flown under your radar. - Weeekly came back in November with Vroom Vroom: https://youtu.be/26ETaLtvGPI Also highly recommend the performance video for Backwards, it's legitimately one of the best shot and edited performance videos I've ever seen! https://youtu.be/ppeI9wrv76w - tripleS just came out with two new subunits. The first one is tripleS NXT with four entirely new members Lynn, Joobin, Hayeon and Shion, bringing the total number of tripleS members up to 20! They have a performance video for their song Just Do It: https://youtu.be/s3IfM-u5hVc And then there's the ballad unit tripleS Aria with Dahyun, Jiwoo (from QP), Chaeyeon, Kaede and Nien. Their song is called Door. Absolutely beautiful song and MV! https://youtu.be/PqKZctzEW1o - Brave Girls have changed company, renamed to BBGIRLS and came back with a song called One More Time: https://youtu.be/lTkduj1vW7g - Golden Child came back with Feel Me a little while back: https://youtu.be/ws5Ig1cHrSM - Ryu Sujeong of Lovelyz (you've seen them on Queendom 1) just dropped a prerelease falled Fallen Angel. I just know you'd love that one! https://youtu.be/3XPkC4pVl_A Her title track is coming on the 24th so you could combine the two MVs :) - Hui of Pentagon just had his proper solo debut with Hmm BOP: https://youtu.be/mQ6AMpwPHKI - Pixy sorta came back with Truth or Dare. Though it wasn't promoted at all and there isn't even a proper MV, just a performance video: https://youtu.be/B9KiVVXw-oQ - Jay Chang is part of One Pact as you know but he also released a solo EP just before that. It has two MVs: Rockstar (https://youtu.be/6XDE3FjmLgA) and I'll Be There (https://youtu.be/PYf4TEj1ZAM) Of course it's up to you what and how much you want to check out. I just want you to know what's out there :)

Marcel Wannieck

oh yes! I prefer that dance performances even over the MV

- KDA reactions? Nice! - It would fit aespa? Damn, now that I'm imagining it, I now really want aespa to cover KDA. Further recommendations? Well there are still quite a few. Of course there are the remaining KDA songs that feature idols: - KDA - The Baddest (Soyeon, Miyeon, Bea Miller, Wolftyla) https://youtu.be/RkID8_gnTxw - KDA - I'll Show You (Jihyo, Nayeon, Sana, Chaeyoung, Bekuh Boom, Annika Wells) https://youtu.be/WW1BpABbzHs Then there is another LOL group called True Damage that features Soyeon: - True Damage - Giants (Soyeon, Becky G, Keke Palmer, Duckwrth, Thutmose) https://youtu.be/sVZpHFXcFJw Then there are some additional versions: - Their POPSTAR performance on the 2018 LOL World Championship https://youtu.be/p9oDlvOV3qs - And if you really liked Giants, then there's the live performance on 2019 LOL World Championship https://youtu.be/WFkZjTCxVPc - The dance performance of More with 1MILLION https://youtu.be/Uvy_o058T40 But MY personal recommendations would be: - KDA - Villain. It's by Madison Beer and Kim Petras, so no idols, but it's about the demon/succubus Evelyn from the other KDA mv's, so I think you'll like the concept and lyrics. I know I do. https://youtu.be/xoWxv2yZXLQ - Pentakill - Mortal Reminder. This is by the metal band that Riot Games put together. You might recognize some members. This group has actually released quite a few songs/albums. https://youtu.be/5-mT9D4fdgQ

crispy chicken

Honestly, that's the right call but I'm so over blocks, I'm too lazy to split the video at this moment 🤣

Daniel Goland

Also I don't know why it's blocked on YT since I have seen many reactions to it. Maybe it's because you put two videos in one. Try splitting them up

Marcelo

Definitely check out the 1 Million dance performance with KDA. It has the G-idle members https://youtu.be/Uvy_o058T40?si=peOYgoCxT-TogZTz

Its funny... POP/STARS was the song that finally made me a (G)I-DLE fan. Of course Soyeon's verse was absolute fire, but it was specifically because of Miyeon's part. I often times have the impression that her potential doesn't really get fully used in (G)I-DLE songs. Soyeon usually seems to prefer Minnie (or Soojin back when she was a member) for vocal parts or find better uses for their voices in her song writing style. But in POP/STARS Miyeon really shines. Btw. there is a fun bts vlog for POP/STARS with Miyeon and Soyeon including the live performance at the worlds opening. Might be worth watching and reacting to.
