I return! Even with Deutsche Bahn treating me to a nice 90 minute delay in the middle of the night. But the concert was great. Bit sad that Bora and Jiwon weren't there with Cherry Bullet and that they for some reason didn't even perform any of their new songs. But TIOT were awesome and there was a whole bunch of traditional Korean music and dance which was really awesome to see! Anyway, let's get to Squid Game. - Not sure if I have any much lighter Kdrama suggestions. All of the ones I've seen have some intense elements to them. Maybe Itaewon Class at best, that one is about a guy trying to fulfill his dream of opening his own restaurant. But that comes after a pretty heavy and difficult time in his life. - Han Mi-nyeo, you just survived against all odds and you still have the time to be racist? - Oh yeah, I didn't think of that. We never see any of them get a shower. I don't even want to imagine the smell in there. - The strike that Gi-hun is talking about is real. Happened back in 2009 at Ssangyong Motors in Pyongtaek. The company tried to lay off 1,000 workers. In response, those workers barricaded themselves inside the factory for 77 days, until they were violently removed by the police and army. - Well, that's the end of the organ harvesting side hustle. - „Equality“ yeah I call bullshit. If it was truly equal, everyone would have gotten the same shape in the dalgona game. Instead some people were just given a worse hand by sheer chance. Honestly a bit like real life where your chances at financial success are heavily dependant on the circumstances of your birth and upbringing which you yourself can't influence. There's another example in a later episode and I'll talk about it when we get there. - I've been kinda addicted to Slaughter to Prevail lately :D - 1988! These games have been going on for a LONG time. - You're absolutely spot on. The Front Man talks about equality but nothing about these games is truly equal. - The old man probably also has memories of the Korean War that are brought back by the sirens.

You know, it's perfectly understandable and fine if you postpone reacting to this series and do it like next year or something. Once again, take care 👍
