- The guys seem very confident about that first battle. We'll see. - Slick verse from Sleeq. - That was great. Their voices go really well together. - But I think I'll give the win to the guys here. The song has more intensity and it's just overall more my vibe. - For the context of the show I'm happy the girls won though of course. - I know โHSRโ stands for High School Rapper but my train-obsessed ass always reads it as high-speed rail ๐ - The Quiett is probably very proud of himself for that hook ๐ - I understand Youngji's fear. I think I've mentioned this before but I actually saw Giriboy live in February and he's VERY good. - I can't really pick a winner for this battle. They're both awesome but way too different to make any sensible comparisons. - Han Yohan is having a legit fanboy moment - God damn. Swings and Han Yohan brought the heat! - But Cheetah and Hyoyeon were just as hype. And what a groove! I gotta give this round to the girls. - If you want to see more from Giriboy, Issu du Feu is a really cool MV. Maybe something for a Youtube reaction? He also has a very prominent feature on Face ID by Epik High which is where I first discovered him. - Is it possible for Youngji to become even more likable? - Oh damn, Ravi? The idiot that completely destroyed his entire career by evading enlistment? - Ooh, AB6IX are good! If you're up for song recommendations, Breathe and Close are my two favourites.

I understand he's coming off of mnet's rap shows where that type of attitude is encouraged but calling a bunch of ladies losers and then proceeding to get his but kicked was karma :) I actually like the hook of Demons more than the rap section, though I have heard it multiple times now and it does grow on you. Still thought the girls deserved to win that one. Giriboy's performance was great but it's definitely not a crowd pleaser. I agree that he deserved more points but Youngji was going to win that no matter what. I like the Quiet in this but I feel like after he suggested the hook she probably kept thinking about how she doesn't want to do that one instead of being able to think of something new. I love how all the other girls started singing the hook after literally hearing it once. It's just that damn catchy. Swings and Han Yohan was incredible. I don't really like hip-hop or follow the rap scene in Korea but they won me over right away. I loved the message and the energy! Hyoyeon and Cheetah was just okay for me. I understand that they're both very busy and it's hard to coordinate schedules but it seemed like they weren't taking it very seriously until they only had 3 days left. As a chronic procrastinator I guess I can't blame them but when Ailee, Jiwoo, and Yeeun are just chilling on the bench I feel like if you know your going to be super busy with other schedules the next week maybe let someone else on the team who has more available time help out instead. Also the money heist thing didn't really work for me. SNSD Forever! that was so hilarious. that's the way to dominate the performance but still be courteous to your opponents. I loved the Han Yohan fanboy moments. so relatable. I agree with all the results. Pro tip when it's a best of three and one team is already up 1 - 0 and they skip the result announcement and move on it probably means that the team that's winning one again as telling you the best of three is 2 - 0 when there's still the final performance kind of kills any suspense at who's going to win. Now they are doing the dumb mnet thing where it's a best of three but the actually tally up the individual votes so that there's always hope. Also I assume that there were 50 people in the audience but they just added 0's to everything to make it look bigger. FYI, in the next round AB6ix is participating. After the filming of this episode but before this was aired one of the members got cancelled for something and left the group. So when you notice some of the shots with AB6ix in them are framed/edited weird that's why. Mnet did the best they could with what they were given. I'm very excited for next week as I'm a big fan of Hyolyn, Yooa, and Mimi. As a kpop fan the idol opponents appeal to me more than the hip-hop label opponents but I still enjoyed this round too. Loved the reaction as always!

I love the subject matter (original, touches a very real subject), I love that in his rap verse he first increases intensity but dials down at the end of the verse (like, I'm mad at you, but I also love you), I love his increase in intensity in the chorus (the repeats), it makes you feel his emotion, his anger. This performance was a shortened version (but with an intro), but in the normal version you get more of his unique tone. How to describe it? Fed up? Lost the will to fight? And that fits this song and subject so well. I think it's a very unique song. Sistar (Hyolyn) also featured Giriboy on a great song called "Don't be such a baby" . - Having the wrong belt is something that only people with knowledge about it will notice. If you know, then it probably looks pretty silly. That reminds me of some violinist youtubers that always point out how silly ppl look when they act to play violin in a movie or mv ๐ - NANEUN LEE YOUNG JI!!! That beat alone is sick, but that hook is just too good ๐ฅ The only thing that might make it even better is if the verses were maybe a little shorter or had a little more changes in tone, a bit of diversity. - the energy of Yo-han and Swings is insane. Even before Swings started rapping it was already at max level. - Everytime you think "how can anyone beat that?", the next performers do something that makes you question your words ๐ That's basically how I felt during all episodes tbh. - I also like The Quiet. He's always so calm and collected, and explains everything nicely. - Yeah, the production is great. I mean, you said that the stage is great, but if you look closely, it isn't that special tbh. But the production makes everything look awesome ๐ Everything is 'just' done right. - The pacing of this show is spot on. And how excited are you for the next round? ๐คฏ

2023-09-15 13:36:09 +0000 UTC- one of the very big points of this show is that for each round the girls must write their lyrics, match with their teammates, compose or remix sounds and come up with a concept. In the usual survival shows, songs are attributed to the participant or they just remixed certain passages of course there was a big part of creativity in shows like Kingdom but they had basic material on which to work. There they start from zero and have to find something that all members of the team like. -in fact even the Korean rap scene is full of very cool and a little cute guys and girls. only few of them can be call "demon" JUSTHIS for example can be call demon but not this crew. many of them seem to be very confident but in reality they are not used to being on TV and are quickly impressed. They are used to performing on small stages or in front of an audience who loves their work. There they are on MNET opposite some of the most famous and popular artists. - Yunhway x Sleeq x Jamie these three go well together, their voices go well together and you wouldn't say that it's the first time that they perform together. Sleeq proves once again that she can adapt, Jamie as always demonstrates that she is a very talented vocalist and Yunhway has that little something that we find in artists who play in cabaret and theater. - Lil tachi x Jhnovr x sAesoo frankly I like this kind of clubbing sound, it looks like a Kavinsky sound at the time I gave them the point. even if we are all for our good girls we must be fair. my decision comes from the fact that if we talk about performance the point goes to the girls but if we just listen to the audio of the 2 songs several times I think I would listen to Demon more at home than the girls' songs. - yes DG you are right often people who are used to the Korean show criticize MNET for the fact that they show the reaction of the participants or the crowd to a performance rather than showing the performance. but in Good Girl they did it in a very relevant way and without spoiling the performances of the artists, this is even more obvious with episode 5 which is a real masterclass. - Giriboy unexpected but very cool performance, a rapper who sings with a live group is quite unique and the lyrics are very good. It is true that a more aggressive performance would have had more impact but it was very good. -Youngji this song became a hit in 2020 "The quiet" is not a good producer / song writer for nothing very good performance from Youngji she literally set the fire. This performance marks the beginning of an incredible series of very good performances which will continue in the last 4 episodes. for me she wins this round and her battle against Giriboy. - Hyo x Cheetah vs Swing x Yo-han Frankly, both performances are worth it for me. Swing and Yo-han are used to performing together, they have very good chemistry and they are very good. Swings is a very good lyricist and he has a very big impact. Hyo and Cheetah are also veterans even if they are not used to performing together, they adapt very quickly and both have done thousands of scenes and hundreds of TV shows. for me both duo deserved to win. -Flex money Youngji she's so nice to everyone. that why she deserves to win. and of course i'am so hype for the next episode again guy's you're not ready for the next episode. This is probably the best episode of a show that Mnet has ever made, the line up of artists, the performances, the production, the emotion and the suspense are incredible I recommended this show for this episode.

2023-09-15 07:23:02 +0000 UTCAs a huge Sone&Hyoes, Hyo really has unique tone,I been waiting for Hyo vocal a lot of years, and she finally show us through goodgirl,i knw from her solo she hv alrdy show us the vocals but NOT LIKE THIS,I can only hope. SM better invest in her more now,Of course it's not gonna happen. Hyo's high note slayeddddd and also the masks are referring to the show money heist as in they're gonna rob mnet the show's concept that's there were masks and throwing money,I like this concept a lot,Unfortunately,Though it's sad that korea is sleeping on this bop,I've been used to this situation for years. BTW:Always love hearing Jamie and Yunhway sing! Sleeq created a good balance and fit the theme really well. Youngji is just another level when it comes to rapid fire rapping. It was a close match with Hyo/Cheetah. Thought maybe Good Girl full swept but maybe it's just a matter of preference with the audience.
