The Hwasa Show - Episode 1 (JYP & NMIXX)

It's straight up ageism, you see people driving a hateful narrative about older idols all the time. Nobody is really defending against it because fans of these people have jobs and families.

When i first started exploring K-pop. It seemed like there was a lot of people who had very strong negative opinions about him. Which colored my perception quite a bit. When I saw his part in the MV for Nobody by The Wonder Girls. I was a bit puzzled. Because I saw a CEO willing to embarrass himself for one of his groups. Even in this episode he's doing what he can to personally promote one of his new groups. In the end he's just a really talented guy that still has a lot of hustle in his 50's. I'd like to see all 9 episodes eventually. But If your going to do them in any order. I'd like to see the one with Mamamoo next. :)

Yeah, JYP always has some dad-vibes going: I think he takes good care of his groups (girls in particular), always gives very good advice and is very knowledgeable about music, business and ppl. He is also an extremely hard and diligent worker. But he is also that dad that when he starts singing or dancing I want him to sit back down ๐Ÿ˜… Not that he is a particular bad singer or dancer, but it's always cringy to me. It always exudes "try-hard" to me ๐Ÿ˜… It's also endearing, but it's not for me ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Including his rap ๐Ÿ˜ฌ I thought I had never watched this show before but I've watched this episode before. Hwasa wanted a comfortable, relaxed setting and I think they achieved that. But I also thought she wanted it to be more spontaneous: if guests wanted to do impressions they could do so, etc. So everytime JYP or NMIXX said they "prepared" something, I was just a liiiittle bit disappointed. Also very good job of Lily and Haewon, because I reckon they must have had great respect for Hwasa (Haewon couldn't even look to her side ๐Ÿ˜„), and to sing in front of her AND your employer, must have been nerve-wracking. But they did great!

I loved this! The Hwasa Show is so wholesome and real. She truly loves music and wants to create a platform where artists feel comfortable/not pressured to be perfect. The next ep is great if you want to go in order, but my fav are the New Yearโ€™s Eve episode with her โ€˜I Live Aloneโ€™ cast mates (think itโ€™s ep 3), the one with EPIC HIGH (ep 6) her duet with DPR LIVE (ep 4) and the last ep with MAMAMOO (of courseโ€ฆep 8). Seriouslyโ€ฆthey are all great.
