Next Survival/Competition Show - Suggestions here!

Hey guys, hope you're doing well, whether you're celebrating Christmas or not, I hope the week has been treating you well!

As we're approaching the last episode of Girls Planet 999, it's that time to make your suggestions for the next Survival/Competition Show we watch after GP999! I will take your suggestions and create a poll which is going to be posted on Sunday, along with the GP999 finale reaction :)

Let's go :)

Comments

Not so much a competition/survival show. But a reality variety show that was a lot of fun was Sister Slam Dunk season 2. It's a show that takes famous Koreans from various entertainment fields (acting, modeling, singing, comedy) and puts them together. Both seasons they try to make a girl group and debut. But season 2 is focused on the group. I've only seen season 2 and I absolutely loved it. It had both Minzy and Jeon Somi.

Kreigmstr

I believe that was season 3 :)

Jared Mathews

wasn't the finale of season 2 cancelled by the Chinese government?

KyrainMcLeod

I'll be completely against mainstream here and just randomly drop Youth with you 2. I saw only first few episodes and don't really care about debut group, but it's still interesting to see the difference between Korean survival show and Chinese survival show.

Good girl

Well IOI (& W1) were 3rd gen groups. I suggested PD48 bc it has more people that are still active/popular these days so there would be more emotional connections to have with current popular idols in the industry (not saying Chungha, Somi or Soyeon aren't popular ofc I'm just saying in comparison Izone is more fresh in everyone's minds compared to IOI)

serenity

I think Good Girl is very standalone so it can be watched whenever. No prior knowledge is really required. For the Produce series, yeah it might be best to watch them in order for the reasons: 1. You won't get spoiled that way 2. You might get a little bit better "feel" for the journey of some of the idols. 3. The quality of the performances. Because of budget increases and lessons learned the quality increases over the seasons. So watching them out of order might be underwhelming, which wouldn't be really fair. Then again, we watched Kingdom and Queendom 2 which are also more modern shows, so... it's up to DG

crispy chicken

i agree but after the season 1we got time . and if he watch the season 2 before the first he can be spoiled .

fabrice maire

hit the stage and good girl are really great show but it's not really a "survival show " i think than DG can really love GOOD GIRLS so far some of they're performance are the best i see on tv .

fabrice maire

i agree but he had to start with the season 1 guys like that he can follow ,Somi , chungha ,Soyeon and many other idols from the early 4th gen . produce 48 is great but he can follow that after the first season .

fabrice maire

i love good girl but i think than DG as to start with the produce series in order . and the first season as a lot of trainee than DG like seeing somi , chungha or even Soyeon at they're debut could be cool for him. same for produce 48. but i agree with you if he want see only great performance with no elimination stuff it's the best show for sure anf to me the Ailee x Sleeq performance is still one of the best performance i see on tv since a very long time .

fabrice maire

I agree with Aslak and Fabrice - Produce 101 - You will know so many of the contestants

Iland

Thea

I Land created enyphen and I land 2 is coming soon forming a girl group so I d vote for iland 2 when it comes out or Iland 1 rn so you can get into the context of the show !

lllllllllllalaaa

Another vote for ILand

Nellie Z

I-land

Erica

i agree produce 101 season had to be the next like ALSAK poulsen said the other major survival show are build from that show . and many great group than we follow are build with trainee from that show ( everglow, (g)idle , and pretty much all the first promotion of the 4th gen are build with that show . it's also good way to follow Somi after sixteen .

fabrice maire

I know it's old but Unpretty rapstar!!! I love watching those!

tracisr

produce 101 season 1 the show so many many others are build from. In the first season they hadn't perfected their evil edit formula so its a bit more random... I did say a bit.... Anyways a very fun show, and many currently active legends had their start there

Aslak Poulsen

I highly request "Hit the stage" it's a dance competition show in which kpop idols team up with professional dance teams to compete

Cb3

Still haven't seen all of "street woman fighter" but I think that would be a good one still and recently since I've started getting into Triple S I watched "my teenage girl" and i found that one to be a really interesting way of doing a survival show. Both Yooyeon and Jiwoo came from that show

Laura

Produce 48

Hit the Stage - Idol dance competition show with a different lineup every round. (Taemin, Ten, Momo, etc) Good Girl - "Who Robbed Mnet?" Hiphop competition show where the cast of girls(Ailee, Hyoyeon, Lee Youngi, etc) compete against special guests each round to earn "flex" money. Street Woman Fighter - Dance competition show for choreographers and professional dancers. Some of which you saw in Queendom 2(Monika, La Chicka, Honey J, Bibi's Vengence(Aiki/Hook), and Lee Lee Jung who opened MAMA with Somi. Second World - Singing Competition for Rappers. (Moonbyul, Mimi, Exy, Jooe(Momoland), Yubin(Wonder Girls), Jimin(AOA), Moon Sua(Billlie), Seonyu(Classy). I don't know if the full episodes are anywhere but all the clips in order are on Youtube playlists.

Jared Mathews

I personally would recommend I-LAND (Enhypen) since ILAND 2 will start airing in 2023 and it'll be Enhypen's sister group!!! OR you could check out Produce 48 which created IZONE. It's a similar vibe of Girls Planet and it would help you become more familiar with members of IVE, Lesserafim, and soloists like Eunbi and Yena!!!

serenity

No worries :)

Daniel Goland

street woman fighter! or I-Land

ninni

Good girl, it's a show with already established female artists (ailee, jamie, hyo from snsd, lee yougji,...) who compete as a team against different artists every episode.

ili

I haven't seen it yet but I've heard good things about I-Land which formed Enhypen. And I'll throw Boys Planet in the suggestions because why not

Marcel Wannieck

- Good Girl. You are gonna love this one. It's about 1 super team taking on other good artists for prize money. The team consists of Ailee, Hyoyeon (Girls Generation), Jamie, Jiwoo (KARD), Young Ji, Ye-eun (CLC), etc. So no eliminations, no long voting stuff. - Produce 101 season 1 (forms I.O.I.)

crispy chicken

An underrated suggestion but I’d still like to put it out there- LOUD is a competition show with PSY of pnation and JYP to form pnation’s and jyp’s next boy groups (2 groups). It’s unlike any show I’ve seen, the contestants are mostly non-trainees, some even with no singing/dancing experience, plus a couple of trainees from pnation and jyp. The show tries to place an emphasis on the personalities/charms/strengths of each individual contestant as well as their idol skills. I personally thought it was a breath of fresh air! the resulting group from Pnation has already debuted, called TNX, and the final group from JYP has yet to debut. Hope you will consider it for the future!

Holly

Hi, I am your korean fan👋 I hope you to react to PRODUCE 48 which made IZONE. Or SING AGAIN 1! It has been a big hit recently in Korea. lee mujin is from this program. (You know, the host of Leemujin service) And SUNMI is the judge of this program.

미안

Thanks sorry, I tried to look at your reactions before, I saw twice on there, should have opened it first

James Wallisch

You could do Mix nine or the unit. Both of the Shows were around the same time. And there are a lot of idols you could know in this.

Stephie

the second world. it's a singing competition for girlgroup rappers. moonbyul f.e. is on it.

yukistan

I have reacted to Sixteen, check out the pinned post which has links to all of the reactions :)

Daniel Goland

Sixteen (made twice), Produce 48 (made izone)

James Wallisch

Maybe, Street Woman Fighter but I don't know how to find it
