BLACKPINK BORN PINK ALBUM REACTION

had to put it on Vimeo because the video got blocked on YouTube, damn it...

Well, seeing as it's a first-time album reaction of course it'll get better in the next one, as I probably won't be reacting to the album 2 times again, but just do one listen and pause in between songs to talk about some stuff :)

BLACKPINK BORN PINK ALBUM REACTION

Comments

Well, the use of the f word disqualifies them from any radio in Korea and Rosies continued no-belt policy in the car will get their music video banned from tv, they knew this beforehand

_ there are so many things to say about this album that I risk being a bit long. - 1 about the album here is the order of my favorite songs 1 happiest girl 2 shut down 3 Typa girl 4 Ready for love 5 Yeah Yeah Yeah 6 Tally 7 Hard to love 8 Pink venom - Happiest girl is also probably the most unexpected and beautiful blackpink song to date. this is the song I was waiting for as you said DG this is the vocal demonstration of the group. let no one tell me now that JISOO is not a good singer, I'm really on my ass. SHUTDOWN is here to show that all members can rap too. as I often say now one or an idol must all know how to do otherwise they will be below the current standard. so these 2 songs alone show the ability of blackpink members. -now I would like to talk about the evolution of girls -JENNIE I have known her since before these beginnings (not personally, but by reputation) when she was a trainee she already had this aura of a star, many saw her succeed. she earned her nickname of YG princess before the start of blackpink because she had already appeared on stage with GD a member of big bang and in some clips and commercials. before the debut of the group YG planned to make jennie the leader of the group. because she had very clear opinions and she had already written around 70 songs and was gifted in all areas, an all rounder. and after the debut of blackpink during their first 2 years 2016/2018 JENNIE was clearly the most popular member of the group. now after 6 years even if all the members are to this day very popular JENNIE remains for me a pillar in the group it is the most complete and it is still evolving if only YG could let go of their reins and let them release these songs it would be great . - LISA is the member who has already reeked of the most hatred because of that nationality and the fact that in 2015/2016 non-Korean kpop idols had trouble getting accepted by the public. And then also out of stupidity or by jealousy . despite all she quickly became popular not only thanks to her dancing skills but especially for her rap and her attitude. she was so talented that involuntarily she stole the show from JENNIE who was the main rapper of the group. lisa's popularity exploded in 2019 after KILL THIS LOVE at that time BLACKPINK went viral globally and LISA was the most popular member in general in western countries. now Lisa like all the other members is an international star who was rewarded by the VMAs an incredible record for a little Thai girl who came to Korea to be part of a kpop group. - ROSIE the member who passed the most between the drops. the member who has received the fewest malicious messages. since the beginning rosé has seduced with her unique and angelic voice now she is also a magnificent dancer she has a very beautiful line and she is very graceful. it is also the most glamorous but also the most sensual member of blackpink after LISA it is the most incredible to see on stage. -JISOO I end up the best because for me it is the member who has known the biggest evolution. during the beginning of the group she heard hundreds of times that if she was in the group it was only thanks to her beauty and her visuals. and for the first few years she had very little line in the songs and very little positive fan publicity. then BLACKPINK HOUSE arrived and a large number of fans fell in love with JISOO, her pleasant and reassuring personality, her joy, her special humor. but not all of his talent has exploded, his voice has become incredible, his technique, his ability to put emotion into his voice, if someone tells me tomorrow that blackpink has 2 vocal hands, I all agree. but that's not all she can also rap and dance it's also improved. have the view also become a quality actress. and in this album he is the MVP his performance in HAPPIEST GIRL and TYPA GIRL is incredible when I heard that voice I almost cried. - only negative point of this album is of course the few songs that we have been offered after 2 years of waiting. YG takes us for idiots. anyone who knows yg and anyone who has seen the light up the sky document knows that most of the songs on this album were recorded or pre-recorded and written years ago. so what have you been doing for 2 years ???? Another issue that fans or haters will raise is why a ROSiE solo song in the middle of a band album lowers the number of songs even further. still no JISOO solo. good news no useless collab.

I suspected that this album would be aimed at the West, and it seems to be. I saw one thing that that Happiest Girl and Yeah, Yeah, Yeah were trending in the U.S. On first listen, I felt like the B sides would be more popular than Pink Venom or Shut Down in the long run in the West. This was BP unleashed. A lot of reactors have talked about Jisoo coming into her own, and that's true, but they all are. You should still check out Jisoo's cover of "How can I love the heartbreak" by AKMU to see how adept she is in her higher register - she's an amazing vocalist, but she's just now getting a chance to show everyone in a more upfront way. The problems with the album have to do with direct sexual reference, and drug references - YouTube doesn't like them. In Happiest Girl, many reactors have just cut that part out. I don't like that, but everybody's got to do what they have to do. The one thing that I'm REALLY curious about is the thought process that went into putting a Rose' solo on this album. It's a fantastic song, and I'm not complaining at all, but it seems like an odd thing to do on a six song album. The girls all knew about this long ago and are fine with it (they probably heard it and went "Yes, put that one on there.") because none of them seem to care WHO gets more credit as long as it helps the group put out the best. The only times we almost saw Jisoo cry were when she was watching Jennie debut Solo, and when Lisa won her VMA - they always seem to be so happy for each others successes. In summary, this album seems to be about them saying "We started out young, but we're grown adult women now, and you need to start treating us like that. We're not taking your shit anymore."
