Well, I had no idea, hopefully people still enjoyed the reaction despite my literal take on "Mafia" hehe.

Daniel Goland

Nope ITZY clearly explained this in multiple interviews. IT is 100% the mafia game they reference in the song. No doubt about it.

Whole ** πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I don't know about that. To me it is very possible that there are multiple meanings.

If you want an example of Mafia being played here are two games with WJSN: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mrz9ma8M9ts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkFpmlOPG18

Oh, well I guess I took the video the wrong way cause I have no idea that a game such as this ever existed hehe.

Daniel Goland

Yeah, Mafia/werewolf is pretty much the grandfather of all social deduction games (which would include Among Us and many others). My favorite such game right now is Blood On The Clocktower.

Dardove

Heh, yeah, you not getting the Mafia reference means you are severely slacking in binge-watching secondary content πŸ˜† But to be fair, I was confused as well when the song first came out. That was even made worse by the fact that a friend of mine from southern Italy was extremely pissed by the title, having to deal with actual Mafia from time to time.

The crazy thing about that is, that even if everything works perfect on the (very expensive) technical side, the girls still need to replicate their dance moves EXACTLY and probably several times over. That's just insane skill and dedication.

KyrainMcLeod

It's probably what inspired Among Us. You could see Among Us as a modified and more dynamic video game adaptation of the Mafia/Werewolf game (in Germany the same game exists but usually has a werewolf theme instead).

I am not sure if you know but "Mafia" is a game that idols quite often play together. I'll try to explain it a bit: There's someone (the gamemaster if you will) who appoints the different roles to the idols (1 or more Mafia, a doctor, a policeman, the rest is civilian). Goal of the Mafia is to survive by killing the rest. Goal of the rest is to kill the Mafia. Doctor can protect someone from being killed. After each "round" the gamemaster announces the results, after they say something like "a new day has come" which seems a bit like "in the morning".

I like how you got sshhed in the beginning πŸ˜„ Transitions Yeah the transitions went up a whole other level. It reminded me of Stray Kids (God's Menu in particular) but don't know if the same producer/editor was involved. Some of the best transitions are (you already picked out a few): - Ryujin disappearing in the beginning - Ryujin going through the wall - all of them "teleporting" closer - all of them ducking and only Chaeryong coming up again in a different outfit - the 3 cuts in Yeji's part where more and more ppl show up - immediately after that Yeji pulls down the camera (disappearing from vision), followed by a white cloth covering the camera being lifted revealing Ryujin - immediately after, Ryujin throws the cloth behind her and when the cloth almost disappears behind her they cut to another angle where you see the cloth continuing to fall - and right after that Ryujin covers the camera with her hands (but leaves a small opening where you can still see her) and when she removes her hands she is wearing a different outfit. - the tons of excellent match cuts Correcting "they're whore" to "their hole" isn't much of an improvement imo. Just kidding of course πŸ˜‹
